Looking for an economical (not to read the most dirt cheap pos I can find) pistol barrel, 10.5"  Something under $150.

What have you guys found that you like that has decent accuracy and life expectancy?

MAS Defense

I have one of their 8.5 x 1:8
It does everything a barrel should.
It's more accurate than my eye behind an EOTec.
Yes, I would buy another.

I'm running the Bergara.  I'm guessing they made a boatload of them and had to get rid of them somehow, so they dumped them on SG.  Been plenty happy with mine for the $$$.

I'm running one of the law-guns.com barrels http://www.law-guns.com/ar-15105300bblnitride.aspx

Shot great groups using 110gr Barnes Tac-TSX.  Also ran subs without a can with no issues.

I have to agree , I got the 7.5 barrel and was shocked at how accurate it was.

So something like this.  And yes, I know I need a gas block and gas tube.

Yes  and get a adjustable gas block .

I would also get the barking  spider from spikes.

I'm running a couple barrels from Classic Firearms and their performance has been comparable to the ones I've gotten from MAS.  Classic tends to run cheaper than MAS on their barrel prices.

How much is velocity and range going to be affected by barrels less than 10"?

Someone posted a photo comparing different barrel lengths using Barnes 110gr black tips.  The difference between 10" and 8" was around 120 fps, energy loss was 130ft/lb roughly.

I completed my first pistol build last week - was surprised to shoot decent groups at 200 yards.  Mine is a 8.25" Hardened Arms upper.  I have not tried further, but it was  a pleasant result given no prior experience or expectation.

I recently built a pistol using this barrel and have ran 250 trouble free rounds through it. Accuracy is more than acceptable and the brass is reloading just fine. I couldn't be happier with this barrel.
