What is the best 7.5 inch barrel for an SBR, in terms of cycling reliability and accuracy?
Price, at least a reasonable price, is a secondary consideration.

Barrel or complete upper? I bought this upper http://www.jsesurplus.com/CUSTOM71X9MOLYPISTOLFLOATTWR.aspx
At the time they key worded it with "Kitty Kat", I don't know if all the parts are DPMS or what? But mine is 100% and I'm just running a ChiCom buffer and spring (eBay pistol buffer/tube kit).
As for bare barrels, I bought one from Classic Firearms but haven't built it up yet.

Maybe not the best but perhaps good for the money...mine is a JSE "Kitty Kat" as well and it is all DPMS. As much as people hate on DPMS it looks good and has been flawless. It is filthied up with a 22lr conversion then ran with 5.56. My only gripe is that the machining inside the gas block is rough, but that has no affect on anything.

With a combination of filth and heat I can get it to slow down some but it keeps running.

I used a chrome lined Green Mountain on mine and have been very happy with its accuracy and reliability. Very nicely finished, too.

I bought a VooDoo innovations 7.5 heavy barrel from DSG, mainly because I couldn't find a Noveske Diplomat to save my life.

It runs like a raped ape. Suppressed/unsuppressed. 1/7 twist and melonited (I think)

Finished my SBR nicely.

A lot of value for the money.

I built one using a Rainier Ultra Match and never regretted my choice.

Your price point for an above average 7.5 stainless barrel should be around $200. No more than $220.
To me the sweet spot is about $200.

+1 for Green Mountain. Got mine for $89 with a gas tube.
