Good luck with that. A .308 barrel is going to be a heavier profile, due to the size of the bore.

The right to bear arms website has CMMG blackout 8" barrels that are thin. The .750 gas block. Just bought one my self. $139 plus shipping.
They are a company on here. |

You could always get a stainless barrel from someone and have it reprofiled.

About the thinnest profile I have seen. Currently OOS but they are supposed to be making more. http://www.law-guns.com/ar-15300blackout8pistolbarrel.aspx Let me know if you find a pencil in BLK, I would try one. |
