A plain tool bag or crappy gym bag will work if you don't mind breaking down the pistol. And nobody wants your stinky socks.

The "crappy gym bag" is exactly what I use for the 10.5."

within the next 6month, I plan to install the AR Folding Buffer Adapter  to be able to fit my pistol in a regular backpack

The plant personnel get Makita
kits like this at work and the
ME's give the cases away.
I line mine with convoluted
foam (also free at work!).
The larger cases are 19" x
15" and will hold a pistol
broken down and a few
mags very nicely. I carry
it into motels on trips with
no worry's!

Yea, I have the Bulldog discrete case also... 11.5" barrel with KX5. With sig brace, it's a super tight fit, but still works for what I need it for.

The 29" Bulldog case?

Do you have the brace pushed up against the back of the receiver?

Try one of these. I had one in
my stash of odds & ends. It's
been waiting all this time for
me to build a pistol!

Side pockets hold mags & other items.

Small, low profile, affordable, but effective.

Nope, that is a M60 MG spare barrel bag carried by the assistant gunner. They were carried forward in stock when the M249 became standard. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/34329-m60-barrel-bag/

The M240B bag is quite different, a roll up in Woodland with pockets and a heavy heat lining for the barrel to cool off on. http://www.ebay.com/itm/USGI-Surplus-M240B-Spare-Barrel-Case-Woodland-Camo-New-in-Bag-/160958181326

I have one of these for a 16" carbine and it's too short to use assembled. It also says "tactical gun case" in public.

I'm leaning toward the soft padded cases in something other than black that doesn't look like it has tools or expensive musical instruments in it. If it can be seen thru the windows of a vehicle and seems attractive, you can bet someone will try the door handles to check if there is no obvious alarm system.

Don't use a case that will make the problem worse then it needs to be.

Pistol is done and looking for a case for it, have a few other soft/padded cases for the ful lsize guns, but just want to find something smaller for the pistol.

Something in the 28-30" range ...

Whats out there?  thanx

I picked this up as a discreet 'range bag' that allows me to carry all my gear for my pistol........

It works great, holds a huge load. Has three separate padded main compartments and four smaller pouches, one of which is for wet or dirty gear.

You mean, like this:

My "test" bag for my 7.5" folder AR is my laptop bag for work.  It fits nicely, wouldn't you say?

Once I get her all done, I will get a dedicated backpack for it.  I'm thinking... a regular looking backpack with accoutrements to look like daddy's dedicated diaper bag (e.g. bottle, pacifier, and baby wipes stored in outside pockets).
