I have done things like new triggers and all kinds of stocks, i think i am ready to build one from the ground up.

parts list so far
Aero Precision combo lower and upper  http://aeroprecisionusa.com/combo-sets/ar15-stripped-receiver-set-with-cerakote.html

Mas Defense 10.5 barrel http://www.shop.masdefense.com/removefromcart.sc?shoppingCartItemId=5F08BE7D-D068-351D-74BD-35DD10FA50C6

ALG Defense 12 inch hand guard http://algdefense.com/12-ergonomic-modular-rail-black.html

CMMG lower parts kit

Flach can break  (slim or normal?)

Sig Brace and KAK tube

Need a good gas block and tube

Things I'm worried about
Will the flash can stick out a bit from the hand guard (i hope so)
And aligning the gas block seems tricky.

Any problems with the parts anyone can see?

Thank you

Alignment of the gas port is easy. You can either eyeball it or put some masking tape on the shoulder of the barrel and mark a line where the gas hole is. Bend a paper clip so you have about 1/4" at a rt angle, then use it to measure the distance from the shoulder to the gas hole in the barrel and the distance from the rear of the gas block to the gas hole in the block. make a determination if the gas block can be pushed to the shoulder of the barrel or if it has to stand out some for the ports to align.

Pin the tube to the gas block, Align the tube to the mark on the tape and use some Loctite on the threads of the block.

Are you going with the 10.5" Wylde chamber or the Melonite barrel?

I just bought this one I was looking for a  10.5" 1x8, Wylde  Melonite and they got it back in stock. Received it and it looks nice. I can't say anything about it other than that since it is not assembled and obviously haven't fired it. MAS should be a good choice as well.

Why not an Aero barrel? I have a 10.5 " Aero and I like it.

+1. Here's how my 12.37'' handguard and KAK Slim Flash Can look together.

FWIW, I bought a PSA CHF complete upper for $300 shipped then shaved the FSB and bought a Rainier Arms Evo Keymod. Pinned FSB chopped down is probably the most reliable gas block out there.

Thanks for the heads up on that barrel Blowout, i think ill go with that one.

Would love the Aero Barrel but price is an issue, going to try and stay under $800
Maybe if i could save $50 somewhere.

BTW, I'm thinking a AIM NiB BCG, any good or bad about them?

The AIM BCGs are gtg, but I've started their nitride version rather than the NiB...

Why NItride over NiB?
Because it's not a coating subject to wearing off, but rather a surface treatment which hardens the metal, is corrosion resistant, and reduces friction...
