Guys,

So im gathering up info for my pistol build that is under way. I was just about to click purchase online for a DPMS Pistol gas tube and though I better check the length. Seems different brands have different lengths varying from 6.5 inches to 9.5 inches

Is it best for me to just wait until I get my barrel and everything on and just measure the gas tube length to the middle of the cam cutout like the pic below?

7.5" barrels use a pistol length gas tube. 4.25"" 6-11/16"

They make a pigtail for 3x the price but I've mever heard anything spectacular about it making it worth the extra cash

10.5"-14.5" uses carbine

A 7.5" barrel would definitely use a pistol gas system i.e. pistol length gas tube.

Like he said, avoid the pigtail gas tube. They're a lot more money and cause a lot more problems.

4.25 seems way short. Most Ive seen online are 6.5 to 6.625. I'll just get one of these and cut it down accordingly if I need to.

7.5" pistol barrel here and I am using the dpms pistol gas tube, no problems.

btw pigtail tubes aren't the solution to your problem.

Thanks all for the replies. I went with a Noveske pistol gas tube. According to MidWay it is 6.75 inches long.
