Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Wanting to build a AR pistol. Question about lower

I am wanting to build a AR pistol and getting ready to order my first stripped lower.  When I pick it up from my ffl they need to mark it as a pistol or other correct?  Then I can build it as a pistol but not if they register it as a rifle.

These days it will be transferred as "other".

The main thing is that it was not assembled as a rifle first.

That is not an available choice under section 18. That's what he would write in under section 29.
