First thing, make sure the extension tube is concentric to the lower. If so, separate the upper from the lower and use a wooden dowel or something similar to push the buffer in to test for binding. Also, do you have an extended bolt release installed? If all this checks out, post your results and we can troubleshoot from there.

Same thing happened to me on my last pistol build. To fix my problem I polished my bolt with a dremel, cleaned and lubed everything. Next I manually worked the action a few hundred times and its now like butter!

Gentlemen, thank you for your replies and interest.
It looks like my bolt is rubbing against the buffer retention pin. My thought is to polish the groove on the bottom of the BCG with the hope it will act more slippery. What do you think? |

Might be easer (and cheaper to replace) to fit or replace the buffer retaining pin. If it is sticking up far enough to contact BCG it seems a bit long.

Not to be a jerk, but a Dremel should be the last thing touching a firearm. Cleaning and lubing should have been the start and end of it. Unless it's physically binding somewhere, shooting just a hundred rounds will smooth a new action up. |

Probably just need to shoot it more. Keep bolt through the two holes and outside carrier good and wet first couple hundred rounds. - OS |

could be your gas tube is not aligned with gas key, try take off lower, just look at upper, move the BCG back and forth with your hand, do you feel any bind at last inch before BCG closes in and locks?

Only have a couple hundred rounds through it. It shoots fine. The only time I notice stiction is when chambering an empty mag.
I'll shoot more and see if it breaks in. Super Thanks all for your support. |

I should have stated a dremel with a buffing pad. Nothing harsh or abrasive.....Late night no clear thoughts... Thanks for clarifying Rick.
