THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Using the same components and magazines is a huge bonus to me for .300 BLK, and its performance relative to 5.56 in shorter barrels quite the advantage, and of course if I ever go suppressed, another.. The only thing that is causing indecision is the cost of ammunition itself at about twice the cost of 5.56.. I don't have any reloading equipment or experience, so maybe it would be a good excuse to start reloading as well! What say the hive? |

I would go 5.56 first. Ammo is plentiful and cheaper than 300 blk.

I'm in the same boat. I've got one 16" CMMG w/red dot, an 18" Larue Stealth w/ 6-18 Nikon on the way. My pistol lower is built just havent decided. If you go 300BLK you really need to suppress it. I watch for responses as this is my first pistol also.

I just built my first pistol and decided it made a lot of sense
to go 300 blk on it. I built this 300 blk pistol on one of the FHTF group buy lowers I bought. It has a spikes upper with a core 15 9" barrel, Core 15 nickel boron bolt BCG, Hard core charging handle and a spikes lower part kit. I plan to make this an SBR with suppressor and will wait to decide which suppressor I am going to get before I choose the muzzle device. I also plan on putting a red dot sight on it in the near future. ![]() |

If you are considering reloading, I'd go 5.56 first, you can make your own 300BLK brass from your own once fired cases.
That's my plan. |

Ditto to Shadowcop - 300 would be neat but not until you have the $ for ammo.
If you have to ask…5.56 |
