While waiting to to an SBR, I decided to go ahead and build a pistol since I needed to buy a stripped lower anyway. This is what I have so far. Still trying to decide on a rail. Probably gonna get a MI 9" rail and use the BCG out of my Daniel Defense for now. This is my first build and really liking it so far. I'll update when the time comes.

S&W stripped lower (cheapest I could find locally)
DPMS Lpk
Del Ton stripped upper
Core15 9.5"- 300blk stainless barrel
Standard buffer with paracord wrap

All on order and hopefully be here by the end of next week. Will post pics when pistol is finished. I can't wait to shoot it!

Added a Magpul Enhanced trigger guard, DD fixed rear site, Troy LoPro gas block, Brownells pistol gas tube, and polished the stock trigger. Just waiting on my Troy Alpha rail and flashider from PSA(taking forever).

Here she is, finally completed. Received my Troy rail and flashider today. Added a Magpul flip up front sight as well. What does everyone think?

Is your rear sight on backward?

Nice job, I'm still gathering parts for my first pistol build.
I've tried to see things from the liberal point of view ... but I'm just not flexible enough to get my head up my ass.

Good eye on the sight, not sure what happened there. Goin out tomorrow to test it out, hopefully everything goes smooth. Going to try the 115gr Remington's first, then maybe some 220's. Pretty excited since its my first buid, I don't think I'll ever buy a complete gun again

Had a chance to shoot it yesterday. Started off with one round in the magazine to see if the bolt would lock back. Bolt did not lock back and I noticed the brass dented. Then I decided to put 2 rounds in the mag, 2nd round was chambered fine, and still had the exact dent from the brass hitting the receiver. My conclusion I'd that the bolt is coming back too fast, not allowing the bolt to catch and causing the brass to be slung into the receiver hard. Brass is landing around the 4:30-5:00 position. I'm guessing I need a heavier buffer, would that help solve the issue?
I believe that it is overgassed. Shooting 115 gr remington ammo(supers)

There is a picture on the internet that shows where the brass is landing and what part of the AR system its affecting.
do a google picture search for "AR brass ejection diagram" it should be the first image from that image it states "'over gassing"
is from 12 to 3:00 the sweet spot is 3:00 to 4:30 and then under gassing is 4:30 to 6:00. I just don't know if its AM or PM

Usually with a bolt not locking back is a sign of a gas leak, partially blocked gas port ect. It could also be a binding mag catch or one that is out of spec. If where your brass is currently landing is correct it doesn't sound like it's over gassed. Don't think a heavier buffer is the solution.

Decided to add my PA 1-4 scope to the pistol. Want to see how accurate the barrel will be for deer season. Hope to go shoot sometime this week if work will allow. Unfortunately I'm in the HVAC business and is scorching hot down here in the south.

That looks really nice !!!!!
There are two times when you can have too much ammo: When you are on fire or drowning. All other times, it is better to have too much vs. not enough.

Here I was gonna congratulate you on joining the straight-pull pistol ranks! What, are you too lazy to pull a charging handle 30 times per magazine? ; )

Gig 'em,
