Thank you Troy.  I'm figuring out a new hosting solution.

As it says, Ugly. But very functional.   After zeroing it put 3 into into one hole.

Can anyone ID the A1 stock?  Plastics buttpad and metal trap door.  Trap door latch is stuck and lower screw is rusted tight. I quit trying to get it open so I wouldn't break anything.

One of the 12" this last week took 5 pigs. I love this handy light hard hitting package.

Bump! I don't know if y'all want to count him sense he broke into my wife's tame hog pen. But the Grendel slain another pork chop maker. He was bouncing off the panels pretty good when the first shot blew up on a panel and peppered him. But a quick fallow up put his pecker in the dirt.

ET2SS, I like the simplicity of that build. What side-charging upper is that?

Thanks.

That's an AA 16" light bbl, with an Aero Quantum 15"

It's a Bear Creek Arsenal Side Charger

They were running specials at $139.00 for an upper with BCG  a few weeks back.

I also picked up a 24" complete upper to go on one of those specials. Found a spare Stag lower kicking around in my gun room
to mate it with. I just need to get some glass to go on it.

is that the swfa 3-15? If so I have the same setup on my grendel. I went to academy to get more ammo today and they were all out. If anyone has extra brass and wants to send it to me, I'll paypal you.

Hopefully soon I find the right handguard for my 20" build in progress.

It has been 7 years since I had my last 6.5 Grendel.

I sold it to fund a silencer, and the time was right to get this one together.

Fixed 16x that I got on a Black Friday special a couple of years ago.

I am going to move this to the 24" bench rifle awhen I pick up
a new one for this rifle. Thinking variable, just don't have lots in the way of
funding

Christensen arms barrel had some chamber throat issues, swapped it out for some Proof Research and hit it with some alumahyde.

*UPDATE* on my 2nd build. It's starting to come together. I had purchased a 24" fluted upper from BCA, but it came with a standard upper receiver.

I finally got to borrow my brother's Reaction Rod to switch out the upper. Sure am glad I had some extra barrel shims around to get the handguard aligned.
Swapped out the carbine stock on the Stag lower I had laying about as well.

So here she is, coming along quite nicely.

Now I just need to get a decent grip (MIAD?), and to throw in the MBT I got on sale.     And of course some new glass.

sucks to hear about the throat issue. that alumihyde looks great tho with the carbon poking out.

Thanks, I wish that barrel was the only one that had issues, there were a few others in this thread https://www.ar15.com/forums/t_16_4/5879_6-5-Grendel-tight-chamber-.html that had the same problem. Mine was about ~.060 short of SAAMI with nosler CCs and the factory ELDs stuck in there pretty good as well. Proof barrel is spot on though, machining is much nicer as well.. nice target crown and no threads hanging off the barrel out of the box like the other one. Tiny bit heavier though, but hardly noticeable.

Looks like a great setup, why are you apprehensive about the optic? I was planning on going the same route on my SBR Grendel.

ETA, I thought it was the PST gen2 at first, but I am unsure now.

I'm not really worried about it holding up, but the glass may be better on my VXR-Patrol that is 1.25-4x and it is lighter.  I'd really like to put my 1-6 Razor on it, but don't want to pull it off my 3 gun rifle. Another option is my 4x acog that doesn't have a home at the moment.

@miker84 I'm assuming that's a 12" EMR V3 with a 12.5 BA barrel?

How much room does that give you to put on your AAC can?

Any more pictures of the spacing between the rail/flash hider/can would be appreciated.

@ZoomieFoosh
Correct

It is very close

TLDR; Had to use the flash hider rather than the brake and had to add a shim to clear the latch.

That's a really cool pic of some top notch equipment.  I've heard you talk about the Lilja, I'm familiar with the Larue FDE (I have one, may be my favorite gun now, at least for the time being).  What about that 16" on the top though?

Started my path of following the GrendelFather (LRRP) with a 16" Liberty build, great gun 1/2moa. Very happy with it but 10.5lbs loaded/scope/bipod... wanted something lighter. Have several AR pistols, seemed like the thing to do. Of course everything shorter than 16 is Long Group Buy or OOS. Then Primary Arms got the Bear Creek Arsenal 16" M4 bbls in @ $75, grabbed two. One went into a 16" carbine build, the other went to Dallas to be chopped to 10.5. Total of $150 in it with cut/thread.
It would not cycle until the gas was opened to either 3/32 or 7/64, cant recall.
The 16" BCA carbine is fine <1.5moa with factory or my handloads but is 4moa with Wolf Steel.

The 10.5 was <2 moa with Hornady Black or my handloads but was 10moa with Wolf 100gr Steelcase, it hated that ammo. It also had a very short rifling leade. A 100gr fmj I worked up in my Liberty 16" build would not chamber in either of the BCA's. That load uses a FMJ 100gr that Midway did a clearance on. Kinda short fat ogive on it unlike the much longer Hornady or Lapua pills I have tried.
I saw that the GraniteRidge place had the BA 12.5" bbls in and at 25% off, no brainer. Swapped them out yesterday.

Pre Swap

1/2-28 vs 5/8-24

They left the roll pin uninstalled thankfully. Threw the OdinWorks adj GB on there from the 10.5"

Cheapy 3 port brake I use as thread protector. It will be used 100% with my Hybrid.

Complete package. Bushnell 1-4 throw lever on it for now.
