I'm thinking of doing a 6.5cm for my next build (I have a spare PA-10 receiver set sitting around), but I'm into lighter builds. Is there a pencil 6.5cm barrel out there? Preferably in the 18" range?
I went 16" pencil (Faxon) for my 308 and LOVE it (and it's lack of weight). Trying to do the same for 6.5 creedmoor. Does such a barrel exist (and even better if from a mid tier brand)?
Thanks for any input!

I have the Faxon pencil 16 inch shooting great in my 4.48 pound AR 308.

But the 6.5 Creedmoor needs at least 22 inches, and a mid-weight barrel. Some of the AR 6.5 barrels are 70 to 80 ounces.

A 22 inch 6.5 Creedmoor about 40 to 42 ounces would sell well, need to be fluted to get that low.

I have a hard time selling any kind of pencil barrel in my store. I try to explain the pros/cons as best I can to the customer. Still they all want a big honking 24" bull barrel whatever caliber and then complain how heavy it is when hog hunting. Some of them even base their decision on looks citing the bull barrel looks better.

I sell the 20" and 22" Ballistic Advantage barrels. I wouldn't mind having something like an 18" Socom profile in 6.5 Creedmoor. It would be well suited to what the hog hunters actually need but they could bang steels at 1,000 on a Saturday afternoon.
