I noticed that there is no distinction between 5.56 and .308 stocks for the Gen 3 PRS stocks. Has Magpul resolved the previous issue of the charging handle catching the cheek rest? Trying to figure this out before I go and order a gen 3.

Also, what weight buffer is everyone running on a .308 with 20" bbl and full stock?

Yes, there is only one version of the gen 3 PRS, it works for all calibers.

IIRC, the only difference between the 5.56 and 308 Gen II stocks were the length of the cheek rest. I do know that the cheek rests are exactly the same on my Gen II 308 stock and my Gen 3 stock.

The check rest on the Gen 3 appears  to be the same size as the check rest on the previous 308 PRS at least to my eyes. I haven't measured mine only eye balled it. But works on either 308 or 556 AR's. The one exception it will not work on my LaRue 308 PredatOBR. The receiver extension is about 1/4" to long (7 1/4") for the Gen 3 to fit on. So I used it on my POF P 308. IIRC I saw post that it would not work on the LWRC R.E.P.R either but not 100% sure.
