DPMS GII which can be made even lighter. I haven't tried it, but you could probably get under six pounds pretty easily.

Swap out the handguard with an MI or SLR and get the barrel contoured. Install an adjustable gas block too, most people report that theirs are over gassed.

I also want to be able to use Magpul 308 mags. Does the DPMS use magpul?
