I am putting my DPMS .308 Sportical on a diet. I want to lose the hi rise upper and go with a lower profile. I don't want or need (my opinion) the forward assist or ejection port cover. I have seen sales for uppers in the sub to low $100 range. Now I can't seem to find one. I can wait. If anyone knows of one shoot me a link please.

The DGW is a High Profile DPMS pattern upper. Do not confuse that with the Super high uppers, but the taller (referred to as older) DPMS rail. The profile is the same as CMMG, SI Defense, JD Machine (if I recall), as well as others.

The DGW will fit on a DPMS branded lower and needed some love (stiff take down pin) for the SI-Defense Lower.

So if you go with a DGW, be sure to buy a HG/Rail (if that is desired) that is noted as "DPMS HP or High Profile".

If your DPMS Gen1 is like mine it's the barrel that needs the diet. 16" barrel on mine feels like a truck axle.
