Looks like PSA is getting into the 6.5 Grendel market as they have a 16" Chrome lined HF barrel for sale on their website.  Curious if this barrel is manufactured by FN.

Hmmmmmm.  Interested.  No bolt to go with it, though.

Interesting. They'd have to come down on price to be competitive though. My Blackhole Weaponry 18'' barrel was $244 and came with a stripped upper receiver. It shoots incredibly well.

It appears to be a carbine length gas system which is curious as most 16" 6.5 Grendel's use a mid length gas system.  J&T Distributing sold a carbine ( CAR) length 16" 6.5 Grendel and I have one.  It has been reliable and accurate but it is more of an H-Bar contour as opposed to the M-4.  PSA might sell these barrels if the steel case Wolf 6.5 Grendel ammo starts arriving in quantity.   I would assume since the barrel is sold as 6.5 Grendel it should take a SAAMI 6.5 Grendel bolt.  There are SKU numbers for 6.5 Grendel bolts and complete uppers but are not yet in stock.

The 203 cut, why?
I like the profile but, not with the 203 cut.

Eta: or is that just a stock photo?

Good question, I zoomed the picture and no printing is visible.  I just hope PSA has a better track record with the 6.5 Grendel than some of the issues with the 9 MM AR-15's kits their selling.

If that is the actual picture on the PSA website, that CHF barrel has been around for a few years. It looks exactly like the Alexander Arms "16" Tactical" barrel that was dropped from the line in 2014.  Page 9 from the 2013 Alexander Arms catalog lists it as "The Grendel Tactical rifles are available in 7.5 twist rifling in mil spec chrome lined barrels. The M4 type is cold hammer forged, proof tested and mag particle inspected."  If you zoom in on the PSA photo you can make out the rollmark on the top front of the barrel (where it is on the AA version, too.) It says "MP then the fancy F over the N in the oval 6.5 GRENDEL 1/7.5". I would guess that it is threaded 9/16-24 at the muzzle and uses a .136 bolt. I think the 1-7 twist is a typo. Obviously there was a 6.5 mandrel made for hammer forging when AA had the barrels made and it is back in service at FN. The 203 cut is silly, but it didn't prevent me from getting three of them when AA was selling them.

Would like to see that in a lighter profile, the government profile is pointless.

If they were to poll their target market, I can see where a lot of people might just want something as close to an M4 as possible.

Most of us that are more well-versed with AR15's want a MLGS with the 16" guns.

If these are going to digest a diet of steel case, then I can tip the scales either way.  Some shooters are going to have them cut down for SBR's, so a CLGS makes more sense for them.
