I just wanted to update everyone on these new Made in Israel IMI Defense 7.62 Mags.  They actually are some of the nicest polymer mags I have seen to date, from a strictly subjective perspective.  I really like the rubberized/elastomer floor plate assembly.

Raw internal length from internal edge to edge of the magazine is 2.850", so loading to 2.825" should be doable for those interested in max COL.

Empty weight of the magazine is 5.9 oz, or 168 grams.

The follower seems to have minimal tilt.  Follower bias is towards the left side presentation on even numbers, whereas PMAGs are right side bias.  These have a window a la Magpul. These are available in black, OD Green, and FDE.  I ordered the FDE from site sponsor, AIM Surplus last week and they arrived yesterday.  Price was $16.95 per AIM Surplus IMI 7.62 20rd Mags

These look like a good quality magazine. Please update us on functionality, after you get some range time with them.

IMI, has put out some decent stuff. That rivals other manufacturers in the game.

I will have to scope those out when I break down and get an A Series ARMALITE AR-10T.

Yes, yes I will.

OP, any chance of a pic of the follower from directly above?

Thanks

There is a bit more COL allowable in the IMI mag compared to my PMAGs.

IMI:  2.850"
PMAG: 2.820"

The Israelis own enough of these to make domestic magazine production make sense:

I got two black ones for my PSA .308 They work great!!!

My Pmags actually are giving me a problem of not wanting to fully seat the round. The rounds are kind of tight coming out of them. But the IMI's are working well.

Wonder how they perform in a SR762?

Very well. 4x scope on a bench rest I was doing sub inch at 50 yards. The trigger is not great. Lots of crunch. With a new trigger I know I would do even better. Unfortunately, a 50 yard range is all I have for now. hopefully I can get to the 100 yard range soon.

Will these hold the bolt back on a DPMS G2?
Gen 3 Pmags will not do so reliably, while Gen 2 mags are fine...

I just tried 2 of them in my GII Recon. I only shot 2 mags and they locked back both times.

Figures!
I went to order some last night after seeing this post. They were sold out of the tan and green so I went to order 3 black ones.
Tried to add them to my cart and it said only 1 was available. So I got just the one, paying $12 for shipping not knowing when these would be available again.
Just went back to their site and all three colors are in stock again! And my irder already shipped so it was too late to modify it!

Thanks for the report. I was wondering what set these mags apart from the crowd. Looks like what I need.

Bryan said they make around $2 a mag, so no free shipping.  just buy a bunch of other stuff to counteract the shipping.

Welcome to buying anything from AIM. They have some of the worst shipping rates in the industry but always have cool shit and stuff I want in stock. They wanted $19 shipping on 60 rounds of 308.....

I don't need free shipping.  I would like reasonable shipping.  Put it in a USPS Priority box for $5.95.

I was going to order that last black one myself but decided to wait until they got more. Thanks for the heads up, just ordered 4. (like I need anymore mags)

Bryan,

That deal you did on the G2S triggers made me a fan!  I just have to make it reasonable in my head for the shipping thing.  If I knew they worked in the SR-762 reliable like, I would order several to make it worth the shipping.

The 4 I bought fit and functioned fine in my Bushmaster MOE.
