I like the idea of the lower. I hate the way the upper is set up with their proprietary rail and barrel locking system. Does anyone know if their lowers will work with standard AR15 uppers?

I think it'd be really cool to make a KAC SR-47 clone out of it.

As far as the lower goes, functionally, it's like any other lower, with a bit of slop between the mag well and FCG housing.  That can be tightened up or made permanent if you go dedicated AR47 type build.

Any upper will work, keep in mind that AK mags wil not fit into a standard upper without modification.
I have one set up with a GG magwell, works great.

Could you go into detail with your 7.62x39 upper made to work with the MGI lower? Pictures would be appreciated too!

I highly recommend Spikes Tactical Gen II billet upper for this endeavor. Conventional A3 forged uppers will be very thin around the magwell area after machining. The Spikes Tactical Gen II billet upper features increased sidewall thickness, thus, making it a perfect candidate for this modification.

Pictured here is a modified conventional A3 forged upper. Note how thin (approximately .010”) the material is in the magwell area. Also note how the side of the receiver bows inward due to the pressure applied by the ejection port cover. Despite the reduced sidewall thickness due to milling, this particular receiver has over 35k rounds through it and structural integrity has yet to be compromised.

Exact dimensions for the mods are HERE. or HERE.
This is what the upper looks like after milling.

Optional: Paint milled areas with Cerakote or engine enamel.

After assembly, it should look like this...

and it should look like this when in operation...

Here are some additional mods that are optional...

Magazine Mod:
Have bulgarian waffle mags that don't fit in the mag well? Remove some material from the rear of the mag, just above the rear tang.
It should look like this...

Feed Ramp Mod:
Sometimes 7.62x39 barrels come with 5.56 feed ramps.

The contours of the feed ramps don’t conform to the larger 7.62x39 cartridge, which may lead to feeding issues later on.

Re-contouring and polishing the feed ramps to accommodate the lager diameter casing and projectile greatly aids in reliable feeding.

Bolt Carrier Mod:
If you wish to modify your own bolt carrier rather than use an MGI bolt carrier group, the secs are HERE.
After milling, it should look like this…

I sure wish someone would produce a "builders kit"  AK mag stripped upper/lower and bcg.

MGI has AK-47 wells in stock. I built my SBR on an MGI lower and am really pleased with it. I used their carrier and enhanced bolt firing pin combo and it has functioned flawlessly. I just wish they wish they would get the grease gun mag wells back in stock. The last gun show I was at a dealer had several of their rifles including the 9mm version with Glock mag well.
