Mine had about a $40 COD, it also didn't fit perfectly, the guiderod would rub the right side of my lower reciever, so i pulled out my anglegrinder and shaved it down till it would clear. Now if I could just plant my ass somewhere long enough to submit some atf paperwork.

For all you guys here in the US that bought the NEA stock from theammosource.com, did you guys get charged any import duties/tax? I am thinking of getting a 300blk barrel from them and don't know if the hassle of dealing with import taxes would be worth it rather than getting a Rainier or something here.... I'll be able to tell you later today, mine is on the truck for delivery today $40 for mine also |

thanks for the news guys...I was really looking forward to getting the 12.5" NEA barrel with it's ARC treatment to see what it's all about...but the additional $40 plus international CC fees has put a kink in that plan....for now.

If you start too low you will get a bullet stuck in a barrel so it's better to start a little high. |

I have put about a mag through mine it runs great.
Subsonic, and quiet with 247 grain NOE, with 11g of A1680. 6" barrel, sighted in at 100 yards with a 3.5 moa leupold deltapoint. I don't have access to my cam right now, but i am again impressed, and have no use for the 7.62 KX3 I ordered to replaced the blackout I need to sell it before it turns into another gun. |

Well I installed my NEA and didn't like it at all. They are not
comfortable to shoulder at all. Shooting it with my normal "nose to charge handle" puts my cheek right on the end of the metal tube. The stock is VERY sturdy and well put to- gether, but the feel is NOT for me......already sold it to my buddy who loves the "look". |

I'm on the fence, I like it but it is a lot of money for not a whole lot of length reduction, It is a cool idea however.

Progress has stalled....had hoped some of my orders would have been delivered by now, but alas.
Ordered an Aimpoint Micro 2 MOA and a raiser. I think the raiser can be collected today, but makes not much of a difference for the progress. I need a flash hider...NOW!!! And I can understand the critisism for the NEA PDW stock. I have still to assemble it, but it doesn't look like a Dream of Comfort, BUT that is not why I ordered it. I think it's an either love or hate relationship. They could have made it out of plastic, but it would probably have affected the strength in a negative way. |

Couple items:
1. put me on the list if anyone is looking to sell - I am interested in picking one up at some point. 2. anyone with one already installed - is this a standard bolt carrier such that I could switch the right handed bolt for a lefty and use it in my stag/rock river left handed uppers? |

Excuse my ignorance as I'm still new to ARs - but in order to make it left eject dont I only need to change out the bolt? The forward assist wouldnt work as the groves are cut on the right side but it will still fire and eject properly right?

The forward assist wouldnt work as the groves are cut on the right side but it will still fire and eject properly right? View Quote Depends which left handed setup you are using. The DPMS Southpaw uses a left handed upper receiver and a left handed bolt (just the bolt, not the bolt carrier assembly), but all other parts are standard (including the bolt carrier). DPMS leaves the forward assist on the right side. As I recall, Stag moves the forward assist to the left side of the receiver, so their upper uses a left handed upper receiver, left handed bolt, and left handed bolt carrier. I'm not sure if their setup requires any other left handed parts. |
|
currently have both two stags and one rock river lefty version - but as you stated DPMS utilizes only a different bolt so if i can get my hands on some DPMS lefty bolts I should be ok... guess i need to place some calls tomorrow.

For those of us who cannot afford NFA, has anyone tried a 16" barrel and threaded a barrel shroud that looks like a suppressor over it and backed it into the railing to make it look NFA but isn't?

View Quote Fairly simple lathe work to make one. There's been a few companies that make (or made?) something like that, but with 1/2-28 threads and about the size of a .22 can. Just start with a longer piece of aluminum of a larger diameter, and thread it 5/8-24. |
