Does anyone know if this upper can be cut down to 10.5" or 10.3" and function reliably with subsonics and supersonics? Thanks. |

Thanks. It will not. You need pistol gas for anything shorter than 16", and some manufacturers are now just doing pistol gas for 16" as well. |

No it can't. You need a pistol length gas system on anything shorter than 16". I would reccomend you look at simply buying whatever barrel length you want. Even getting a good deal on a 16" will be about the same expense after you have the barrel chopped and threaded, especially if you have to move the gas block to make it reliable.

I haven't seen an other 300 blackout barrels with a fsp on it. Also, I have already bought all the parts for a mk18 clone including a KAC RAS and I have no idea how I would get it to work on a pistol length system. If it's not possible right now that's fine. I will use Black Hills 77 gr OTM and get a stand alone 300 blk out upper one day. |

There's several out there with a fsp. Dsa is shipping some now. I saw a loki last week with one on a 16" 300blk.

I am doing that exact same build with a 10.5" barrel as that's what Grim Reaper Tactical does.
Mine is a 10.5" with a pistol length gas system with a YHM low-pro gas block and then a FSB pinned on at the carbine position. I also had him thread it 1/2X36 to use my Gemtech multimount on it without having to buy another endcap and 9mm A2 flash hiders are cheap and easy to find. Sorry no pics yet as it should be here this week but $300 for the barrel and I supplied the gasblock (he has them in stock too) which he dimpled for and he provided the rest of the barrel parts. |

That sounds perfect. Thanks for the help! |

No problem...tell him Eric sent ya
He does all his profiling on a CNC machine and had to re-write the program for my build so he should still have it on hand for another. On a side note, he's a machinist for the Air Force so his stuff should be pretty good and never heard anything bad about them. He can do it as a complete upper for you as well if you don't already have any of your parts. |

12" works fine with a carbine gas system and a .120 port

Yes it can.. you need to weld plug the carbine position gas port then re-drill a pistol hole.. and of course re-thread the muzzle.
