You are correct however you may have missed the point.
No, I don't think I did, or hope not.
My point was that it still has "knock-down" power at 300 yards.
Yes, all of the big bore variants do. I believe that is understood by most folks.
Not many would argue that any 44 mag standard load would not have "knock-down" power enough to kill a deer at the muzzel.
I would never make that argument, though I would not expect to get within "muzzle" distance of a deer.
This statement was in response to comments that the 450 BM is only effective to 200 yards. Does that make sense?
It does make sense, its just that I didn't (and still don't) see any such comments. I do however see the statement (energy at 300 yds.) in the advertising for the 450 Bushy and thought it might be well to bring just a little levity to the hyperbole. The statement is true...but they don't "qualify" it...and any of us who shoot the .44 mag would quickly pick up on that.
Beyond 300-400 yards it does not have enough energy for me to shot deer.
It probably has enough remaining energy (though not ideal), the real limitation is trajectory. All of the
popular three B/B's (Beo, Bushy, Socom) are basically 200 yd. cartridges (150 would be better) for most practical applications. ALL can be shot much farther of course, but you will be dealing with a rainbow like trajectory much beyond 225 yds.
I am glad you like your Bushy, it is a fine cartridge and should serve you well.
