THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Any suggestions for something that will work with pushing the blast downrange a little? |

Deleted previous post, after searching my Yankee Hill Machine & RRA 6.8/7.62/9mm flash hider is 1/2x36, not 1/2x28. My bad.

Look at the KX3. Even for the 5.56 there is plenty of room for clearing the 6.8 but double check to be sure they have not changed since I measured. I have a .338 Spectre barrel and the 5.56 KX3 cleared it but just barely, so I went with the .308 version which gave more than enough room to clear the .338 bullet. Still works like a champ.

If it's one of these: STAG, YHM and DPMS you'll have to talk to them.
If it's 5/8ths - 24, a 308 muzzle devise should work. But, I'd still check with the manufacture to verify. |

I'd check with the muzzle device manufacture to see if opening up the exit would be ok, if so, drill away or take it to a machine shop. I don't think I have ever seen 1/2-28 threads on a 6.8 barrel, I'd much rather have 5/8-24.

I have a 1/2 - 28 YHM phantom on my 9mm. a minute or so with a drill press is easy.

Find a 1/2x28 thread flash hider you like and send it to me and I will chuck it in the lathe and bore it out
for free, you pay postage. The claymore looks like if it was bored out enough for a 6.8 it would have little skin between the bore hole and vent holes around it. . ![]() |

My first 6.8 barrel was a DPMS and at that time it came with a 1/2 x 28 thread. I used a YHM Phantom 5C2 and drilled it out 5/16, or .3125, which is .035 over bullet diameter and that is more than enough.

Had this problem too.
Besides options listed above - Vortex 1009V PWS FSC Custom PWS Step Down Adapter. Then you can use any 5/8x24. This is what I did. ETA - D-D beat me to the Vortex. |

Those would be my choices, Clint supports the 6.8 community also. |
