THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I had a friend stop by that just picked up a Stag model 3 in 6.8. We zeroed it at 25 yards with irons and it ran well. I didnt think the recoil was very bad and liked it. I think it will be fine for bear on down to yotes here in Maine.
I have been sitting on a New Frontier lower and an SSA lower I built with a PSA MOE build kit. So long story short by the end of the day I came home with a Stag model 7H upper and two 10 round mags and one 5 round. It has a 11 twist with the SPCII chamber. It was used but looks like less than a box of ammo bolt has no wear and the shell deflector has but one tiny mark on it. Other than that it looks like new. I now have to pick up brass dies and all the other goodies to load it up. how accurate are these barrels normally running ? If it shoots 2 MOA for me ill be happy cause I cant hold better than that anyway. On top of needing all the reloading supplies I now have to read as much on the round as I can. BRD is a BITCH!!

CONGRATS on the M7!!
Welcome to the 6.8 world!
On the Stag, if it's over a year old. check & make sure you have an M4 feed ramp.
Accuracy, It is hard to say. Each barrel is different. 1MOA is typical, Reloading, 1/2-1/4 give or take at 100yards. If your getting 2-3 MOA, check things out or change ammo.

To get you up to speed:
SPC II is the upgraded chamber standard.
Standard barrel length is 16". So, 20.77" will give you an extra 100 -135fps+/-.
The 50 -200yard sight-in is common.
SSA & Wilson Combat has the fastest ammo (WC 110gr =2700fps, SSA 85gr = 3050). Hornady has very good brass & The 120 SST is pretty popular.
Rem & S&B (Not sure about Cor-bon) uses large primers. Most of the rest uses small rifle.
SSA has very good bulk prices. Tula, Federal & possibly PMC & Winchester will be coming on board with plinker/training ammo next year.
Max deer range with SPC II & hot loads 350+yards. But, a 5x5 Elk has been killed at 372yards with a test barrel.

Congrats, and another new 6.8 owner here. I'll echo checking out 68forums as there is a lot of good technical data to be found there as well.

I signed up over at 68forums. I am having issues with the site. It says I cannot post. I have no idea why. I have done some reading there. It will be a good source if I could post.
