THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Has some type of adjustable trigger upgrade from the factory, MOE grip, and ACS stock on the lower. Came with two complete uppers a regular 16" and a 24" SS bull barrel. The SS upper also has a bipod of unknown quality, stainless bolt, charging handle with extended latch, and a scope that says 8-32x56 SWAT Mil-Dot. A couple things that bother me a bit is that 24" upper has no Fwd assist/shell deflector and the gas block has a little wiggle to it.

At least fix the gas block and see how it shoots. I would probably ditch the 24 of it were me. Heavy little bastards.

So there is GSR inside the free float tube as well where the gas tube enters the gas block. Under the block are a couple allen screws is Im guessing thats what need to be tightened up.

I do plan on keeping just one upper but thought Id keep the 24" just because Id be able to shoot further if I wanted to. I would like to swap uppers so the 24" has the FA and shell deflector.

To answer your question: this is a good deal. 308 AR pattern rifles are in demand right now. I bought a new DPMS LR-308 in February for $1100 and it only came with one upper.

Not to hijack, but here's my 2 cents on "upgrading" a LR-308: they don't need much. Mine came with a gritty "mil-spec" wannabe trigger, which I quickly replaced with a GIessele SD two stage. I think I put the SD "combat" model in there. Your new gun might have an awesome factory trigger; I don't know what the factory adjustible trigger is like. If you don't love it, try a Giessele SD trigger in it (I have a couple of SD 3 gun triggers, but for my 308 I wanted one of the 2 stage triggers because that single-stage 3 gun trigger seemed a little light for a 308 to me). Don't be put off by the flat design.

Beyond that, all I can suggest is try to keep it lightweight and buy an extra firing pin retainer pin or two and I think you will really like this gun.

Oh, and check that spring under that Magpul grip. I had to build a little shelf in my MIAD to keep the spring in place. The LR-308 is a little different than an AR15 under the grip.

good deal indeed.

as far as the gas block being loose?.......im sure the hex screws have come loose. if they are?..pull them and use medium strenght lock tight. that gas block "to me" isnt the stock assy...there should be to 2 notch,s on the barrel that aid alignment of the gas block to barrel.

the lr doesnt come with trap door, fwrd assist/deflector. I can live without the trap door or the fwd assist, but not the deflector. seeing as how i shoot rifle left handed, Ive had a few hot cases come my way and leave some pretty good hickies on my face and neck, so i installed a bolt on deflector from dpms.

i wasnt aware dpms had an adj. 2 stage trigger?...hmm? i replaced mine with a rock river 2 stage and lapped matting components down to get a nice 2lb 2nd stage.

good luck....real nice trade if you ask me

Enjoy. Adjust the scope. It is way too far to the rear.
The 2nd Amendment is not about rights. It is about CAPABILITY. It is about ensuring the capability to respond to violence, and oppression. Not with 1 round, or 10, but with the full force of indignant violence deserved at a breach of our peace.

Good deal indeed! My LR308 came with a JP adjustable trigger and mil spec hammer. Had to have DPMS replace the barrel and bolt due to the extension being on crooked, damaging the locking lugs on both. Ready to get out and shoot this fucker now! I run a little red locktite around the gas port, slide the block on then red locktite the sets. Make sure the gas tube is centered in the reciver and doesn't interfere with the gas key.

So I tightened up the screws for the gas block but Ill grab some locktite and reset them later. If I swapped the uppers so that the SS set up is with the upper with the FA/deflector/dust cover what would be a fair price for the plain 16" set up? And Im guessing Id keep the SS bolt as an upgrade over the factory one? Im also seeing that Id need new high scope mounts as the FA upper doesnt have the tall top to allow the scope to clear the FF tube.
