My build sitting on my SBR lower while I wait for the paperwork to come back on the lower this will eventually live on.

10" Noveske 300 BLK barrel
VLTOR VIS-2 upper
BCM BCG
ACLM charging handle
Millet DMS-1 in Larue mount

The new SBR lower and this upper have Larue UDE furniture as well.

Here is the upper that usually resides on this lower, hence the mismatched paint.

I am in the same boat.  My 300 BLK is actually on a "pisol" lower right now,
but I put up pics of it sitting on my other SBR lower.  I have 2 SBR's right
now, but I have 3 shorty uppers, so I keep a pistol around just to be on the
safe side.

I'll have a Pistol Lower that's going to pulling the same duty, 300 Blackout Pistol  :)

One of these days I have a friend that's going to send me some M 118's 172 or 175gr Match bullet for plinkers, they are pull downs.  I've been shooting 125 Ballistic tips in a 16 inch tube, and some 110's will go down the tube next week.

I'll get some pictures up soon.

Bumped in case anyone missed it and lament that I must be the only guy with a non-SBR 300

I did start to make my own brass:
(you can find the saw here it's a POS and had a spindle on the belt come loose after 300 cuts. I'll exchange it, kill the new one and repeat until I either get one that works or they don't let me exchange any more)

Gator––-Thank you for making a gun and photographing it which gives me all the motivation to build a lower for my stainless barreled aimpoint equipped Troy VTAC railed SixPointEightSierraPapaCharlieTWO

Is that a POF or Quentin Defense lower?

You're welcome, I love inspiring other people's compulsions

It is a Quentin lower. I was originally going with a Mega but a local HTF member had this one sitting around NIB so I went with it.

Makes me want one of these, the round doesn't really speak to me but his is one badass SBR.

Very cool.  Thanks for the pics.  The only change id make is to chuck a possum hollow trimmer rather than each piece of brass to speed up the trim process significantly.

That is one beautiful rifle. I'm eager to go the SBR route in a 300BLK platform. It seems to be a great round to take advantage of the small packaging.

I'm not sure on the length but I'm pretty sure it is a SWS rail that Noveske is very fond of.

What are you trimming them with?  Looks like a Lee trimmer, but what caliber?

Link Posted: 2/28/2011 6:18:31 PM EDT
[#22]
Lee trimmer 300 Whisper/300-221 Fireball. They're all pretty interchangeable ala .223 and 5.56, just remember that the BLK is the 5.56. This is why some are calling them all the 300WTFE.

huge_gator,
what length does the Lee trimmer trim the case down to?
Link Posted: 2/28/2011 6:32:08 PM EDT
[#24]
1.345, a little shorter than the 1.355 spec'd.

Edit: Rsilvers stated "300 AAC BLACKOUT is 1.348 to 1.368. Trim to 1.360."  My chamber seems a little tight so I used the far low end to trim to, by no means do I advocate anyone else to do this. Like any reloading info, do your research and follow the specs. I'll be using mostly 147 gr pulled M80's in this and loading to an OAL of 2.20, YMMV.
Link Posted: 2/28/2011 6:46:19 PM EDT
[#25]
damn that's a lot shorter than I would figure.  AAC's oal for the case is 1.368(+.020).
Are you loading 220 gr SMK subs?  If so what's your cartridge oal?

[#26]
No...no.  I don't need another caliber.  I really d.... no.  [sgtlmj walks away mumbling to himself...]

Looks like Marvin Pitts' KAC-style dimpling job.
