On Wednesday the weather was unseasonably warm for Illinois in mid January. I took the new LMT to the range to wring it out. With only a couple clicks on the ACOG it was dialed in at 100 yards. After that, I was popping clay pigeons scavenged from the trap shooting area. The gun far exceeds the capability of it's operator (me).

The muzzle brake purchased from Nate was installed and made a big difference. It will never come off!

Everything worked perfect. The gun, my ammo, the weather and the company. The other equipment that I had with me just worked flawlessly as well. So nice when a plan comes together.

Very happy with the LMT

Very Impressive. I would love to give that upper a try, but I don't think I could part with my current upper.

I wonder what the weight savings are?

Any one know if LMT ever plans on selling the upper chassis and BCGs separately? I'd love to have a dedicated long range upper so I don't have to swap optics.

I am kinda wonding if they are going to make the enhanced upper in 556 long. I only saw the mws 308 and the cqb in 566 in the video so i guess we will see. I also like the grip panels they are making to go along with the new enhanced upper.

I can't imagine much of a weight savings by shaving the rails. It's all aluminum. IMHO the majority of the weight is in the barrel and extension.

I can see where the slimmer hand guard will fit the average shooter's hands a little better.

Just got in a new scope in. Its a US optics ST-6. It is a fixed 6x power with 1/2 moa elevation and windage. Scope is built like a tank, glass is amazing.

Finally have this set up to where I want it.

Geissele SD-E is the perfect trigger for the MWS.

I really thought the HK pistol grip looked odd until I tried one, it's a keeper.

BABC Battlecomp works as advertised.

Slash XH buffer and UBR combo is perfection.

Leupold Mark 8 H27d is the shit.

The MK 8 is very nice! I have or have owned S&B, Zeiss, Hensoldt, US Optics, and a few others and this scope is as good as or better than the rest.

I currently own a Schmidt Bender Short Dot CQB and in my opinion the Mark 8 blows it away in every category except size.

I do not have an exact weight on the rig but it is heavy (12lbs?), although the MWS is always going to be regardless of optic.

I had some thought of selling an M1A I have owned for a while to replace it with a Larue Predatar 7.62 16" for a light weight rig.

Spoke to someone at LMT last week about this––they said the chassis by itself is going to be at least a year out .

Some shitty iPhone pics of my MWS. I'll take some better ones when I get a chance, maybe even some pics of groups if I can get to the range this week. I just got my Spuhr mount in this weekend. The gun is finally complete...for now. I kinda blew my scope money on a steal of a deal on some .308 ammo, so the Vortex will have to do for now and for the price I think its great glass. I'll eventually upgrade to a FFP Nightforce scope and a TBAC or AAC SR7 suppressor. Here are the specs so far:

LMT MWS 16" CL
Spuhr SP-3616 scope mount
Vortex Viper HS 5-15x44 scope
Atlas V8.1 bipod w/ spiked feet
Magpul PRS stock
Slash XH buffer w/ Armalite buffer spring
Magpul Miad grip
Battlecomp BABC
