.380 (I know of at least one)


.308 is not in the AR-15 platform, but strictly the larger AR10/AR-10/DPMS/SR-25/etc

I think the biggest issue would be the rim.  The magazine would be at such a sharp angle, due to the rimmed cartridge, that it wouldn't fit the mag well, as DrBackJack said.

Yup, .338 Ruger Compact Magnum... customer is reporting baseball size groups at 300 yards...
