I am in the market for a drop in trigger. I have sort of narrowed it down to the RA-140 or Velocity drop in. Is one better than the other in any real sense? Anyone here have first hand experience with both? I have a G2S in my LR-308 but all most other rifles have mil-spec trigger reduced power springs. Are either of these drop ins going to be much better than this?

The RA-140 is the bees knees when it  comes to single stage precision triggers.

Not on your list but I have been using CMC 3.5lb single stage triggers for a lot of years. Drop in,  +/- $170 most places. Very crisp, positive break, and reset. Hard to beat for the money.

Have both, Velocity is superior in feel and reset. I prefer the CMC 3.5 flat as referenced above.

I'm quite happy with my POF 4.5 curved "drop in" (cassette) trigger (about $125 w/ FREE LPK via Bob's). It's as good as I'll ever be.
I'll NEVER go below 4.5 for a duty/SD/HD rifle. Anything less belongs on a bench, ONLY, IMHO.

I have the same POF trigger in my 6.8, it is a great trigger.

I have a couple Velocity triggers and they are great single stage triggers.  I have only dry fired theRA-140 at gun shows.  It seems like a good trigger as well but my vote goes to the Velocity because I have them in rifles.

I vote velocity. I am a little biased as I have never tried the RA-140, but I have 7 velocity triggers, both 3# and 4# variety with thousands of rounds on them (approx. 12k rounds) and I've never had an issue with any of them. On the less expensive end, they are great triggers. I recommend them to anyone who doesn't like 2 stage triggers, because I cannot stand 2 stage triggers

I have a Velocity 4.5# on my CQ rifle and I'm pleased with it. Another option is the LaRue MBT. It is a two stage, but when shooting at speed I never notice the first stage.

Ra 140 without a doubt.  I love this trigger.  I own 6 of em

Between those two I would go velocity. I wouldn't rule out the POF trigger. I own 2 of the curved 4lb and one 3.5 flat trigger. They have the best breaks and resets I have felt for a cassette trigger under 130.00. My cmc flat 3.5 trigger is nice but has a crazy long reset.

Velocity all day..........before getting a Geissele SD-E i had the 3lb Velocity.....super short and crisp, very short reset as well.......not really sure how a single stage in the $200-300 range can be much better. On another note, regarding CMC, my buddys Spikes pipe hitters union came with the CMC single stage. Velocity feels 2x better
