Hey all,

I am looking at getting a Polymer lower for my next build (an 80%).

I'm pretty deadset on the 80% part, I'd like to do a bit of "easy" machining and the polymers are affordable, even if you make a mistake.

I'm looking between a few different ones..

Genisis CNC
Phoenix V2
Ghost Firearms
Polymer80

Can anyone recommend one of those for me?

Thanks!

JMT, maybe?

It's more expensive than most forged.

Strange times we are living in.

To add to the craziness, finished lowers can be found again for $39.  I understand it defeats the point of going 80%, however prices like that are tempting.

Im only 20 so I cannot purchase a receiver at an FFL. I've built rifles before with lowers that were gifts, but I'd REALLY like to make my own. So an 80% is definite.

Thank you both though!!!

I did one of these (EP Armory).  Was pretty easy to cut.  Biggest problem I have had is I used a jig from Anderson that ended up being off on the hammer/trigger pins.  I got a set of pins to fix this that tied them together off Amazon.  In retrospect, I would not do another one unless I got a better jig.  These guys give you a sticker for both sides of the receiver, but I still think that is a bit scary.  The sticker was closer than the jig though, which I originally messed an Anderson aluminum lower up with first using their jig.  The polymer was usable, the aluminum Anderson is a paperweight.

I think I would want a jig that has the holes for the hammer, trigger and safety holes on both sides with a bushing.  The Anderson jig is only on one side, and you drill straight through.  I think it wasn't perfectly straight up and down when it got to the other side, and that is why they were off.  This isn't necessarily an Anderson problem, just you get what you pay for.  The lowers they sell finished I have never had a problem with, and own a few.
