I just purchased a 7.62x39mm barrel with no identification marks on it at all and the muzzle treads are 1/2 by 28 pitch.  Anyone ever run into a barrel like this ?

I would double & triple check your chamber size...that's an odd muzzle thread, its usually 5/8-24 for most .30 cal rounds.

There are a lot of YHM 7.62x39 barrels out there with 1/2-36 threads.

Those are the only two sizes I've ever seen for 7.62x39 barrels, my first has a 1/2x36 thread pitch and the second is a 5/8x24.
Most devices are cut for 5/8x24, I grabbed a thread adaptor from PWS for my first build.
