Cerakote.

Definitely a poor man's gun. Just threw on my F1 can and surprisingly it shot pretty well.

Honest question- is there another handguard/rail platform that's on par with a URX?

I haven't seen one.

I've probably installed close to 1000 handguards at work ranging from URX4s, MK18s, Samsons, DD Omegas, etc and after I started doing URX2/3/3.1s for myself, I realized there is very little else I'd rather do.

The Daniel Defense RIS are very nice, as are the Noveske NSRs.  I remember doing a NSR and a BCM KMR at the same time and I found the NSR to be much better from an installer's standpoint.  Some of my customers have asked my advice regarding certain types of BCM vs. KAC or Noveske and I can give them an informed response, and then they'll either listen to me and build something great, or run off a tangent and wonder why the handguard doesn't fit quite right.

I've continued to look at the URX2 and URX3 rifle length handguards and think just how awesome they really are.

Couldn't agree more, they're impeccably manufactured.

Here's a little bit of URX2 and URX3 Rifle porn.

Changed the brake on this upper from a YHM to a PWS KAC556 so my NT-4 can ride on this gun

Finished my 18" Faxon rifle gas precision build where I had that stainless barrel mocked up

And Ayan's magic was worked on my M4QD MAMS equipped 14.5" legacy upper with a 13.5" URX3.1

Finished painting and installing today.

Anderson carbine gas barrel with 10.75" URX2 milled like the SR-16 CQB URX3 mid.

Thank you Cole.

Christian of Snipe Custom Arms did the work for me several months ago.  I had originally planned to use that rail on a KAC SR-15 M4 receiver and SR-15 M4 barrel that was cut down to 11.5" and put a PWS/YHM QD brake on it.

Not too long after that, I was given the opportunity to trade that "complete" upper, a basically new-in-box URX2 10.75, and a Rifle Length URX3 for some Christmas Cheer parts.  So I kept the milled URX2 and finally had time to paint it this week.  I got very lucky on how well it timed to my Anderson LW receiver I used and I figured why not.  It would let me finish this rifle completely and so I put 2 coats of flat black over a 3 day period and assembled it.

This is what it looked like right after milling.

I still need to decide what I'm going to do with another milled upper I have.  It's my MRP CQB with a 10.5" barrel.
