I got a Mk14 in and it looks like it may be possible to mod it for a carbine carbine length FSB on the 9.5" model; a carbine or mid length FSB on the 13" model; and a carbine, mid length, or rifle length FSB location on the 15" model. All of the taper pins line up with the holes in the bottom of the rail. The only thing is the rail has to rotate more than the MK8 does to install the taper pins. You'd have to remove a bit more material from the inside surface of the set screw anti-rotation tabs to get it to rotate far enough. If you do the set screw on the bottom of the FSB mod, you won't have to worry about the taper pins.

Recent EE purchase. Going to clean up the cuts and get as close to a "factory" look as possible. I'll finish it with a rattle can paint job. http://i65.tinypic.com/14lniip.jpg This is a pic of how it currently sits, along with my 14.5" BCM With the Troy 12" MRF. As you can see, I love FSB cutouts. A DD is my next goal. http://i65.tinypic.com/59vwph.jpg View Quote |

Damn, you guys are knocking it out of the park with these builds.
And remember when WES (MSTN) used to post all those two tone rifles, different uppers with a old gray Colt lower. They were awesome. |

Okay, so I've got a middy FSB upper from BCM that I want to do this to. Should I use a CMR and a SiCo ASR can, or a Midwest Industries Suppressor compatible handguard and an AEM5?

What’s the best available rail out there right now? I have a 6920 that I’d like a cutout rail for.
Do you pretty much have to go with the two piece Midwest industries rail? https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/product-p/mctar-20xg2-fde.htm Also, would there be any installation problems with this rail and a pinned A2 ? ETA: NVM. I see it would be a pain in the ass. Guess this gun won’t get a cutout rail. |

Centurion C4 is cake. Mounts to a std bbl nut, just have to remove delta, handguard retainer, (and bayo lug if going extended). View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Still more work then I want to do myself so I’ll take it to a local smith but yea C4 cutout looks like the winner. |
