I know that the Geissele triggers are pretty much a no brainer but I am used to shooting mil-spec triggers in general.  Looking for something a little nicer without breaking the bank for my 6.8 precision/hunting rifle. It's not a bench gun, but does have a magnified optic.

Anyone have any experience with the ALG Defense triggers?  Is it a significant improvement over mil-spec or am I destined to spend $200 on a new trigger in order to tell the difference.

Not looking for a two-stage trigger.

I've been pleased with the CMMG 2-stage (~$140).  Added  a set of JP springs and its a very crisp trigger pull.

ALG is very impressive for the price.

If you want 2 stage I'd go Geissele G2S or G2S-E without breaking the bank.

Drop the extra $20 for the ACT over the QMS for what you're going for as well.

ALG ACT
Grip trigger screw (for pretravel)
Spacers put in front of hammer in magwell (for over travel)

You get an amazing ghetto JP trigger that's super smooth with a short pull and short reset (as much as you can have without modding the disconnector)

It's even nicer with red/yellow springs, but I have had problems with wolf so I stick to milspec springs.

Here you go man.  Awesome trigger for an unusually awesome price.  Will not disappoint.

I have the ALG ACT in my current build and really like it so far. The stock S&W trigger in my M&P seems to be very good, but I can definitely tell a difference between it and the ACT. For the price, I can't complain.

The Velocity trigger is also a nice option.  You can get them for around $128 shipped.  Really smooth, almost no travel and very clean break.

I heard mixed stuff about the ALG AR15 trigger. It's suppose to be a milspec trigger, not an enhanced trigger. If PSA ever get their enhanced trigger in, I'm trying it. It gets good reviews and is $40!

The trigger on my AK47 has insulted the one on my AR. It wasn't so bad till I started taking them both to the range at the same time. Now my AR sucks!

I have an alg act, and like it.

recently I tried PSA's enhanced polished trigger when i saw it on sale for $35...

I don't have a trigger pull gauge, but honestly I can't tell the difference between the two.

(i'm using jp industries yellow springs for both)

Armalite NM 2-stage is very good as well for around $150.

I just purchased both the ALG ACT and the RRA 2 stage. I would give it to the RRA hands down. The ALG is a fantastic improvement IF you got a mil spec trigger on the shitty side. If you have a good feeling mil spec trigger, it really isn't that much of an upgrade.

I prefer 2 stage triggers. I have SSAs in 4 of my ARs.I have ACT triggers in the other 6. I really like the ACT triggers. Crisp single stage better than a run of the mill trigger.

I have 2 of the LaRue MBT triggers waiting to go into a couple of 308 builds I am working on.

Thanks, I was thinking about this setup, too.

I have actually seen RRA 2 stage triggers break and fail during two separate carbine courses.  Since I run my guns hard, I am looking for something that is not only bulletproof but a single stage as the Mil-spec triggers are.

ALG Defense or CMC single stage is you're looking to spend <$200.

I think most would agree an RRA NM trigger is a poor choice for heavy offensive/ defensive rifle use.  It's better suited for a target or varmint rifle.

An ALG trigger is probably your best bet regarding a good quality but durable single stage trigger.
