i was gonna buy another BCM to put a scope on and bang steel targets....  The 2 im looking at is the 20inch BCM with the 15 inch KMR ....Or the 18inch SS with the 15inch KMR rail.  I am wondering if the stainless is really worth the extra $300 bucks.......let me hear opinions...I will be shooting little steel targets out to 300-400 yds

300 extra??

a high end SS barrel(noveske) costs around $450. BCM isn't noveske, so I wouldn't pay more that $350ish for their SS barrel, which would make  20" barrel about 50 bucks, doesn't add up.

post links to the two different uppers

The 18" rifle URG is "around" $700; the 18" SPR uppers are $1,200-$1,300 more.  That may have been the discrepancy.  Then the standard 20" uppers are also around $700, but the SAM-R is close to $1,800.

Barrels alone, there is no difference between the SS 18" and 20" barrels.

Bottom line, you will not notice a difference in accuracy between the two.

Between those two, I would get the SS 18" upper.  IMO, it's just a better barrel given that it is stainless steel.  You would not gain any accuracy with the 20" barrel.

I have the 18in stainless with 13 inch KMR and it's a great shooter. The KMR makes up for some the extra weight of the heavy barrel up front and the rifle balances really well with scope and regular carbine butt stock.
