Cool looking?

Just get a Battlecomp or something.

FSC556 is effective.

Cool looking?  Not my reason to choose such an item.  If you want a break that really works, the Midwest Industries three port fish-gill is outstanding.  I don't know how tacti-cool it is but it works as well as any break I have ever used and better than most.

Agree.

Some interesting data here:  http://truthaboutguns-zippykid.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Table-All.jpg

Spike J-Comp is effective and cheap, but maybe not all that cool.

I don't know how effective, as I haven't tried one myself although the few reviews out there seem to be positive.  And they're not supposed to be bad on muzzle flash either.   And, they look really cool:

Effective = cool in my world.

No aesthetically "cool" qualifiers necessary.

Lantac Dragon - what's cooler than a Dragon

since you asked about "cool looking", nothing is as "uncool" as a brake on a 223 weapon

Why do you hate that "jp one"
A) It's loud as *#*%$^&^

    - It's a muzzle brake. All muzzle brakes are loud as hell. Get a Compensator*; they're are quieter. Better yet - get a Suppressor!
B) It's not "cool/tactical" enough / does not match my European Carry-All

    - Please sell your rifle immediately and purchase one of these http://www.blackrainordnance.com/bro-pg9/ to coordinate with your ripped jeans.

           Chrome goes with everything brah!

* Muzzle Devices 101:

+ Flash Suppressors prevent the shooter from getting blinded while shooting in low light conditions.

+ Muzzle Brakes are meant to mitigate as much recoil as possible. This often results in strong pressure waves sent to the sides/back and very loud muzzle reports.

+ Compensators are meant to mitigate recoil while stabilizing the muzzle.

+ Suppressors. Suppressors are hotness.

Lantac Dragon is pretty effective. I think its ugly as sin though. I like it because it is effective in controlling muzzle rise. Again, ugly as sin.

Yep, love seeing the bullet impact at any range. So easy to adjust your shots at long range

I hope you buy it used so when you sell it you don't lose too much.  It is a terrible brake.

regardless of the results of your tests. i do not hold the rifle in that manner creating downward pressure. i get very little muzzle movement and felt recoil with far less concussion than a break style comp. i will take your word on the flash signature.

for a muti purpose device the vltor is my choice. the xtc i did not care for 1 bit.  YMMV!

Well after doing extensive research on a Brake/Comp that didnt shoot a huge fireball I personally landed on the VG6 Precision Epsilon and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with the performance.  Excellent reduction in recoil, no muzzle rise and also hides flash very well for a comp.  Here is a comparison of Comp/Brake effectivness and also the best price I could find on one when I ordered mine.  P.S.  Tactical Link has very fast shipping and great service.
