I was hoping to get some input here. I'm building a 300 blackout SBR. Possibly with a PDW Stock. I'll also be using Dead Air Sandman. I'm looking for 10.5 barrel. I've only heard about Faxon through a few friends and seen a bunch on Youtube.  I'm curious how is the accuracy  on a 10.5 is. I'm also looking at Noveske, Rainier Arms Ultramatch, and Ballastic Advantage. It would be great to have input from anyone. I would greatly appreciate that.

That explains it, I spent at least an hour yesterday looking for one to no avail.

Dedicated suppressed SBR. Faxon 11.5 Big Gunner with an SLR adjustable block. It runs like a champ. I haven't shot the barrel for groups yet but it hits what I'm aiming at so far.

without the can of course

I finally got me a 14.5" Gunner.

What would you guys like to see me test that I can buy at Academy?

I am doing an Ammo comparison test for Brown Bear/Wolf/Tula.

Once we stop getting rain here in Houston, I can get this done..

Any results?

Nathan,
Does there need to be a gap between the gas block and the shoulder of the barrel on the 16in Flame? Going with a Black River Tactical MicroTune Gas block.

Didn't have any problem running my Faxon block to the shoulder.

I like to use my NRA Life Member card as a spacer for the gas block during install.
That almost perfectly centers the gas port, and it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.  'Murica!

Hey Nathan! I think this is a great customer service tool and appreciate the great job you have been doing responding to people here. I have read quite a few pages and you put up with a lot of us nit picking you with questions so thank you for still being receptive.

Just one question, I am picking up one of your 18" 5.56 barrels from Aims. I'm stuck between liking the .5 pound lighter gunner barrel but curious what if any is the sacrifice over the Socom/gov barrel profile. I know every barrel is unique and may be more or less accurate then the one made just before it but just wanted to know what kind of accuracy difference you have heard back about these barrels. From there I can make a better decision about accuracy vs weight trade off.

Thank you for your help!

Just finished my first build tonight, hopefully shoot tomorrow.
Anderson lower
Spikes parts kit
Magpul SL stock
Aero upper
Tool craft bolt
BCM charging handle
Faxon GUNNER 16"
Standard birdcage hider
ALG rail, took several times, didn't time right with shims it suggested
DD iron sights on the way and a borrowed red dot for now

All the locals shoot standard to heavy barrels so I never have been one to follow. We'll see how I did soon enough.

May need to let someone else post them. The site won't let me. Big reason I went with Faxon was from this and a few other threads. People are happy with the products and happier with the customer service when it's needed. When you call you actually get to talk to a person, called two other manufacturers and no answer.
Nathan I'll email you a pic.
I've got about 400 rounds of American eagle 55 grain for range ammo. What weight bullet is the sweet spot for the gunner typically?

You can, the photos will only be visible fully to team members until 3 click a little link verifying the photos posted aren't inappropriate.  There was an issue a while back with spamming bots making new accounts left and right and spamming with all kinds of NSFW stuff and other inappropriate content, so the staff introduced the "team member verification" system to cut back on it.  Once 3 say "yeah it's good to go" the images are then visible to everyone.  They'll just look like links until then to non-members.

Went to the range with a borrowed holosight since my Daniel Defense irons are on the way. The rifle shot well but the sight had to be turned all the way up and then the small dot washed out on the target for my son and I. The dot and ring were very dim and Neither one of us see red well. Got it close to zeroed at 50 yds then shot a steel silhouette at 75 yds on a 9 hole barrier. Got a good burn on the low holes from hot brass. Don't have accuracy results but I hit what I shot at and its much lighter and points quicker than my buddies short barrel. With a crappy red dot I shot 1" groups, my buddy (it was his sight) shot 1/4-1/2" groups at 50 but he had trouble with the sight also.
Probably shot 80 rounds today, I did have one issue. The trigger pin was walking out on me.

Googled it and I had put the hammer spring in wrong, still functioned but didn't put pressure on the pin groove to keep it in place. Quick fix, rookie mistake.

My son and I are new to ar's and we both had the same thoughts when we got done. The SBR was nice but it was not balanced well , front heavy, but it's a loaded out duty gun with the new vortex optic. That was nice but My rifle with the gunner barrel and lightweight hand guard was more fun to shoot.

5 shots at 50... 11.5" big gunner shooting off a bench resting on the mag.  Still having a few issues getting this rifle to run 100%

That's about what my 16" gunner was doing. MRO red dot, Q3131a and a little too much coffee. 250 rounds, not one issue. I'm happy. I think my next one will be a 14.5 gunner.

We're a dealer for Faxon and tend to do a lot of custom builds using their barrels with some cerakote schemes for customers.

Here's a rifle we did not too long ago featuring a Faxon 16" .308 5R barrel, all done up in FDE.

Not the best picture, but I'll try to ask the owner for some better pictures.

My 14.5in Faxon Gunner with a pinned/welded FH continues to impress me. I shot it today at 100yds off a bench, in the wind, 1X MRO optic and American Eagle .223 50gr tipped ammo. The dot covers most of the target at 100yds, and I really wasn't expecting a great group. I was very, very surprised when I walked up at target check... all 10 shots into 2MOA. Wow.
