Ok so let me start by saying my wallet hates a good friend of mine for getting me into AR's! Also PSA for having a good deal on yet another one.

I ordered a Dissipater clone from PSA(it has a mid length gas system), I am thinking I want a fixed A2 type butt stock. What one to get.
I already have an M4gery with a collapsible stock and carbine tube. Will a rifle type stock and tube/buffer be functional with this set up?

Yes, it will work fine. Have you thought about the Magpul rifle stock? It's a1 length which is just a touch shorter. Fits me better but my arms are short.

Thank you! That is pretty much what I am wanting to do!
Only difference would be the iron sights at rifle length.

I ran a RRA 16" a2 middy with an a2 stock for year and it worked great.

Another happy 16" middy user with a magpul rile stock. Very nice feel and very reliable.

Honestly, I think the A1 stock looks better and shoots better.

Mods(Lancelot) sorry for putting my question in the wrong area, thanks for the move.

Machinegunseabee, your link takes me to a gerber flashlight website!

Everybody else thank you for the info. I only have an M4gery as of now and I did not know if the rifle buffer/stock would work on a mid length, I am glad to read that it does.

Oh and me and my wallet still hate my buddy for steering me into the AR!

The dissy pic thread has a bunch of them in it. No link handy and I'm lazy but it's in ar discussion area

Middies work fine with fixed stocks on them.

I agree.  IIRC Cav Arms still makes an A1 length stock.

It's an excellent stock and it does look better.

Same upper with A2 stock.  FWIW the A2 while being heavier is easier to shoot.  YMMV

Agreed. Ran a mid with an A1 stock and loved it

I just got my A2 stock from joeboboutfiters, it is a RRA, and damn it is grey not black that I ordered! Is that common?

I do not care that it does not match. I am more of a function type of person. but was wondering if this is common.

Thanks worked perfect! Smells a little funky but I am sure that will go away.
