is a rifle A1/A2 length buffer tube or a carbine length tube better for the Beowulf?  I was planning on a fixed stock regardless as I've read that some collapsible stocks break under the recoil. if I went with a fixed carbine length tube I could add an adjustable stock later if I want. any experience with either is appreciated.

Check out the Ace Skeleton stock.  You can get an optional 1" recoil pad, which makes the LOP good for me since I'm tall.  The Skeleton uses a rifle tube.

It's UGLY if that matters to you...
