Why are you looking for a "coating"? The term coating implicitly implies something that is applied and therefor can also come off albeit unlikely with the majority of the new "coatings"
I prefer the various nitriding processes because with each of them it involves a change in the surface of the metal itself at the molecular level...which cannot come off.

NiB or TiN. I own phosphated and 1 nickel boron BCG. NiB cleans up nicely, but I see no major advantage in it. Phosphate works perfectly

Hard-chrome, NiB, QPQ, NP3, Microslick, parkerizing, Black T and I'm sure there others. They all work and they all require a lubricant. My personal favorite for bolt carriers, HC.

I believe in QPQ SN nitride for barrels, but not BCGs. For the latter, lubricity is the issue and nickel-boron is the slickest and can run for extended periods, if required, without lubrication. I don't recommend running them dry, but the capability is there. For that reason, my carbine barrel is CMMG nitride, but my BCG is WMD NiB-X. Different surfaces for different purposes.
