I'm doing a 300 BlackOut build as a SBR (10.5") and need advice concerning what barrel is best for the money.  BTW, anyone used/heard of a ALL BRIGHT Barrel?

Any suggestions?

Why build a 10.5" when you can build an 8" with virtually no loss of velocity? I picked up my barrel from Aero Precision for about $180. It's very nice.

You may want to post this on the forum below, also.

That's a great looking piece of kit.  I'm open to barrel size, but I already have a 7" free float rail and was worried how it might look.  But after seeing your's, I think I'll drop down to at least a 9" barrel.
Thanks for the reply.

Yea I wanted the suppressor to be as close to the rail as possible.

Oh Man!!  Now I'm really excited.  Pictures like that are as good as sex IMO.  What buffer you run in that beauty?

Nada; Already have, but thanks for the suggestion.

I have a question on barrel & handguard length as it relates to a supressor.

I also want the absolute tightest fit from rail to suppressor but I plan to thread the supressor to the barrel.

How much extra longer goes the barrel need to be than the handguard to clear the supressor?  1/4"? 1/8"?

I use an 8.5" barrel (CMMG) with a 9" Samson Rail.

The Samson rails are huge and will fit anything under them.  I will be using a Geissele so it can not be too short or it won't work.

On my 8" bbl 300BLK I have the 7.5" Samson Evolution rail.  The hand guard inside diameter is something like 1.56".  The outside diameter of my Templar Ark30 (screw-on) suppressor is 1.5".  When screwed on, my suppressor is about a quarter inch inside the hand guard and looks quite nice to me.  I know this doesn't answer your exact question, but the bbl length and hand guard length doesn't have as much importance when the suppressor fits inside the hand guard.  Oh, my bbl sticks out about 5/16 inch when no suppressor is mounted...in that case I either put a thread protector or flash hider on, mainly to protect the threads.

If the suppressor is a screw-on type and will not fit under the hand guard, assuming the bbl is threaded 5/8x24, then the absolute minimum the bbl would need to stick out of the hand guard would be 5/8", but one should probably make it a touch more to account for manufacturing variances in the length of the bbl and hand guard and how tight the rear of the hand guard to your upper receiver is.

d16man's pic above gives a nice illustration of a hand guard large enough for the rear end of his muzzle device to be just inside the hand guard, yet his hand guard doesn't look real bulky to me.

Aero is out of the 8" barrels, and there isn't another run coming soon, I asked.

I recently ended up with a Seekins Precision 8" with a 1/7 twist, which is just barely long enough to fit under a 7" handguard an still expose all of the muzzle device.

Rainier has some good parts and barrels, but I'd avoid the 1/8.5 twist barrels in the 8" length.  1/7 twist gives more stability with the heavier subsonic bullets.

OK; I think I've found an available barrel that's 9" and in 416 Stainless with M4 Ramps.  It's from a company called MAS Defense LLC .  Anyone use their equipment?
Feedback would be great.

Actually settled on a AAC Barrel that's 10.5" and a MASDefense Brake (Krinkov style).

What's your price point? I've used DD, Noveske, and AAC barrels at different times.

Which barrel do you prefer?  As I stated above, I have a AAC 10.5" on the way.
Thanks

Alpha Shooting Sports has some great deals on barrels, my 8" 416 .300 barrel is a shooter, and the threads were concentric for my can.

I didn't catch your response that you picked the AAC.  I prefer Noveske barrels, but the AAC should do just fine!
