looking for a semi drop in carbine rail.

so far it leads me to the MI 12.5" fsp rail and the Centurion C4 fsp rail.

I've got a 10" centurion on my 11.5, but damn...their fsp rail is $330, that is borderline absurd...still I look at it.

I can get the MI one for around $150, but it looks like a thick rail.

Any other options? Anyone have a MI Gen2 2pc FF that can comment on the diameter of the rail?

the C4 rail is smaller and I preferred it over the MI.  both mount the same and are solid.  buy lightly used gear in the EE to save some money.

Personally I'd dremel down the FSB and go with a 12" C4 rail and get a Troy flip front sight.

I have a 14.5 and I'm debating doing this. Been seeing 12" C4 on EE for around $200.

I've got other non fsb options.

One of the main motivations of this build was a fsb / 14.5 carbine.

This may be unhip, but what about a Daniel Defense 9.5 FSB rail?  They sell for next to nothing these days and are rock solid.

I put the DD RIS II FSB on my 14.5" upper. I dig it.

All the photos I've seen, they look very good. I've been meaning to swap out my KAC RAS for one, I just haven't have the motivation to mess with that rifle as of late. It seems my SPR gets all the "upgrade" attention these days.

I think after shooting this morning, I've decided to just chop the FSB and use my 2nd 10" C4 rail on this upper.

I've already got it and I can set it up like my 11.5, so everything is the same but barrel length.
