Ok, I have a BCM middy, 14.5 that I plan to have Adco do a pin and weld.

I'm making a higher end AR and I wanted to have the barrel Ionbonded.

1. I thought I had read issues with the chamber/extensions coming loose? Is this an issue?

2. Is Springer Precision the only one that does ionbond coatings? I spoke with someone over there and they seemed to know a lot about ionbond but not AR barrels. All they said is we have done AR barrels and didn't know of any complaints.

3. Doing a pin and weld after ionbonding, will this be a challenge?

Did a search and didn't find much information out there. Any info, especially experienced users is appreciated.

I'm doing it mainly for cosmetic purposes. Looks, and scratch resistance.

Flat black high temp spray paint is cheaper and has non-of those issues.
