Got my gas tube and chopped fsb sprayed with some matte black bbq pit paint last week. Shot 150 rounds this past weekend with no issues, so far so good. Also added some DD (Ergo) ladder rail covers. I think I'm going to pass on running NSR panels, I like the way it feels as is.

People are going to get sick of me posting this, but I am just too happy with how it turned out that I can't get rid of that ewh-we-goo-we feeling, and therfore don't care if they get sick of it, so I just keep hitting the submit button.

I've seen those pics a few times already and I'm by no means sick of them . The burnt bronze looks awesome and is actually making me want to coat my rifle.

ETA: What muzzle device are you using?

griffin armament  m4sd ii flash comp, pinned and welded

This burnt bronze has 10% armor black, making it alittle darker.

Placeholder for a better pic when my new light mount arrives, and the FDE goes away.  Wishing I had done my Bronzie with the Fortis, but alas it was not available at the time so my bronze rifle sports a Centurion

Great looking rifle, I have everything to go fde on a black fortis setup just like yours, but I decided last minute to go Burnt Bronze.

My next cerakote project sports a centurion c4 carbine cut out rail, they make excellent rails too. If Rainier would have released a shorter version of the Fortis instead of the 14" they did today, I would have been all over it.  I kind of want to cerakote another 10.5" upper with a shorter Fortis rail in a "darker" Tungsten.

What light and light mount are you going with? I had a thorntail sbr mount on this rail, but I might be looking at a inforce wml instead.

I am going with a Gear Sector at 9:00 with that Surefire.  This rifle had a carbine length Centurion prior to the Fortis.  I guess it will land on my SBR.

Yeah, I am just done with the FDE thing.  My bronze rifle is a Ranier build with black.

I received my 14" today and was all giddy until I noticed that I didn't have a standard barrel nut. Waiting on it to get here as well as the bipod adapter from Midway. Then installation will commence.

This will be on my 22" Grendel with rifle length gas system. It has a heavy stainless barrel and I think the large openings on the Fortis will look good with the SS barrel behind it.

In place of a LaRue 660 QD?  That's a tough trade.

I'm really digging those LaRue index clips.

I wish they made something for the PRO. The mount it comes with isn't terrible but that big ass knob does get annoying sometimes.

Thanks Hammer.  Going all black, have had black index clips on backorder for over a month.

As for your PRO, I hear you about the knob.  I put my PRO in an ADM QD mount.  Nothing wrong with that mount, though.  They are super solid.

You can keep an eye on Weapons Outfitters and Stonefire Arms, they don't stay oos too long. You can also order directly from Fortis and they have them in stock.

If your looking for the 14" version Rainier is your only option right now as far as I know.

somebody please caption this pic

I remember ordering a 12 the last time Rainier had them in stock but there was a mix up with my CC
so I canceled my order.

Yesterday I got two packages from Rainier a 12 and a 14.....

Need a new cut off wheel for the Dremmel and hope to have the 14 mounted up this afternoon some time....Lord willing and the creek don't rise...
