THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Am I the only one who prefers the standard A2 grip over the Magpul, Ergo, Tango etc. ? I have an Ergo on my LMT and am thinking of replacing it with a std. A2

I use A2s with Ergo Gappers almost exclusively.

The MagPul fills your hand better and has good storage options. The standard grip's finger groove doesn't suit every hand. I consider the MagPul an improvement.

I also swapped the Ergo's on three LMT factory lowers for A2's, but I agree it's personal preference.

I'm a standard grip fan. Fits my hand well, and the finger groove is just groovy.

I use them on two with a Houge on the other.

Besides storage I dont see an advantage to the MOE or others. I have tried them and didnt like them.

But hey to each his own.

Ha! I know its just preference but when I look at all the pics on here seems everyone upgraded their grip. I like the guys idea above of replacing the Ergo with the A2 but keeping the gap plug.

Different opinions on grips...how about that.

I wondered why everyone's AR didn't look exactly the same.

I have pretty long fingers, so I prefer a grip that backs my hand a little further from the trigger than the standard grip.

I replaced a Hogue grip with a standard A2 on one of my ARs. If I were to replace an A2 with another grip, it would be an Ergo or Magpul (in that order).

Just switched back to A2s. I hacksawed the finger nub off of them, then grinded smooth. Perfect now.

My choice is the A1 grip with a gapper.

I have a bunch of leftover A2 grips floating around in a parts box. I was thinking about making a coat rack with them.

No, but you can't get a snitch shanked for a dozen oranges no matter how hard you try.

There are a lot of grips I like better than A2's for various reasons but unfortunately I have short fingers so I still have several good old small A2's

My A2 grip on my M4 carbine clone.

I have Magpul MIAD (and MOE grips) on my other non clone carbines.

I also prefer A2 grips but only on my clone AR like my M4 carbines and A2 rifle that's it, the finger grooves on the A2 does not fit my hand size and I always hit the nub with my finger when I grab it quickly or change shoulders.

Magpul MIAD and MOE fits my hand the best and I had tried different grips, so I have to go with it until a new grip becomes available that fits me better.

On my 9mm AR carbine I just replaced the MOE grip with a smaller MOE-K grip so that my kids and wife could comfortably use it.

YMMV

I like the A2 grip as well. I think people have a tendancy to jam their hand up too far, sticking their finger way into the trigger guard area. The bump doesnt match up so well like that and people say it sucks. But, if you pull your hand back, let the bump split your fingers and get just the front of your finger pad flat on the trigger, youll see it fits better and actually helps you manipulate the trigger correctly. And if you buy the whole "the A2 was built for marines shooting competition more than battle" argument, then it makes sense it would do just that.

Theyre just too small for my liking. Same with standard AK grips. I prefet factory Izhmash grips. Pricey, but they feel good.
