What is your routine for breaking in a new barrel and why? I am finishing up my first build today and plan on firing her off this evening. Barrel is heavy profile 16" 1:9 twist chrome lined.

There is no need to break in a chrome lined barrel. In fact, I don't even break in stainless barrels and it seems that many high-end barrel manufacturers don't specifically recommend doing so.

Yep, got the same advice from White Oak on the barrel I got from them...Just shoot it, and clean as you normally would. Barrel shoots 1/2 moa or better with match ammo...
