THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I'm starting on my second build and I've got more movement between the two halves than I think I should. The only real concern I have is that if it moves too much, is there a chance that the BCG would get hung up or strike the lower when fired. Do you think I have an issue that needs fixing or just left as is? |

It probably moves about 1/16". Is that enough to worry about BCG impact? I understand that these rifles are held together with just 2 pins and that there will be some movement. I just don't know how much is too much.
ETA: I just looked at a ruler. Maybe just a tad less than 1/16". |

Do this with a standard o-ring and the "wobble" is gone for $.15

+1 for o-rings, I own a acu-wedge and while it took a little play out of the gun it did not remove all. I saw that someone recommended o-rings and I forgot the size but I did this and problem solved. There is no longer any play between my upper & lower receiver, I ordered my o-rings from Spikes Tactical and they come in a 3 pack for $5 or so, I don't remember the price exactly. Also you can put AR wobble in a search and there is a great page that shows a guy trying different solutions until he just goes with the o-rings and it will give you the right size if you'd rather just go to the hardware store rather than order them. They do eventually need to be replaced with wear & tear but for the price and ease of installation you can't beat it, hope this helps.

I believe that a #28 o-ring is what I put on one of mine.

Buy a bunch of them too. I can break open my rifles about 3 times before they crack. Oh well, they are so cheap I could care less. I don't have much wobble anyway, but I love how rock solid they lock with the o-ring.

I've tried a piece of a foam earplug. I just jammed it in there like the accuwedge. You can cut it down to adjust your desired tension.

Looks like I'll be going to the hardware store tonight. Thanks for the tip.

Get a thinner one and you will be good to go for many upper receiver removals or openings. |
