It's heavy for sure. It was 9.15lbs with the sopmod on there when I weighed it last.
It's a 16" SS 5-r barrel that was dimpled and cerakoted by Marvin Pitts.
Put my 19oz can on the end of it for a while and then anything you pick up after that feels like a feather.

The NF NX8 1-8X came in today, very nice optic! The geissele super precision will be here tomorrow and the Surefire muzzle brake on Friday.

Here's a couple quick pics, bear in mind the pics of the reticle are only taken with my phone, without the optic being mounted, the eyepiece on the scope isn't focused as of yet either. The foliage is approximately 300 yards away.

nice looking scope, I think i am going to list my trijicon and pick up the NF when next time I am in.  Dont dislike the trijicon, just I like the weight of NF, plus, its been a while since ive shot a NF.

Shot the first target after mounting and sighting in the NX8. It's important to note this is a single stage mil spec trigger that comes with the Daniel Defense LPK. Ammo was Black Hills 77gr. Keep in mind this is a chrome lined MRP barrel. 15 rounds were fired using only a bipod, no sand bag and the gun wasn't in a sled or anything like that. Distance was 100 yards.

A couple of friends of mine did the conversion. They did a faxon 6.5 grendel for me as well, pictures back a page or so.   It has a standard extension with a pressed on sleeve that they machined.  They press on the sleeve, mill the cross-slot, then turn down the index pin. They turned out beautiful, I couldn't be happier.

Hey guys. I have been out of the loop for a while. Anyone have a break down of the weight differences between the three carbine length models. I have the original model and Iam thinking about going for the M-LOK or SLK variant. M-LOK seems to be the lightest as it appears to be the one with the most material removed but I could be mistaken.

Thanks,

Honest question.

What's the thoughts behind the super high set up of your optic?

More comfortable for me to get behind. I got used to a red dot on a 2.33 mount and. Ow everything has to be high otherwise it feels bleh

If it works, cool

Could never really get consistent with higher mounts.  I run my mws at 1.25 and my mrp's at 1.4

Anyone direct attach a Harris bipod to something like a magpul mlok adapter?  Replaced my ACOG with a 1-8x and am thinking about using my rifle length mlok MRP as an SPR

I’ve really just seen QD mounts attached to rail sections

I recommend the Kinect QD adaptor from Kinetic Development Group. They have the standard picatinny adaptors and Harris Bipod adaptors.

You can attach and remove accessories with ease, without the use of tools.

Putting the MRP into more of an SPR role.  Probably need to do some touch up work with some darker greens and browns on the other rifle to make it more SC friendly.

Other rifles are totally irrelevant at this point. This is a chrome lined MRP with shit 55gr IMI ammo and a single stage Daniel Defense mil spec trigger that comes in their LPK.

Id love to sled this rifle with match ammo and a Geissele 2 stage trigger.

That's impressive. I might have to try my CL barrel again.
My current SS 16" barrel is an expensive date. m193, m855, pretty much anything like and it shoots 2moa groups or so, maybe worse.  Feed it just about anything heavy, 69gr and up, and it's a monster.  I've been feeding it CBC 77gr mk262 clone the last couple of years and it's been great.

2moa is pretty solid to be on this.  I need to go out and shoot some more through this rifle to see if I can repeat these groups, but I honestly wasn't expecting the rifle to be shooting <1.5moa with 3 different types of cheap surplus (PPU, MEN, Wolf Gold).  I haven't tried to shoot any nice stuff through it... I have 5 or 6 different brands of match laying around so I'll have to shoot some of that through it and see what happens.

NZ rifle clone. Foregrip isn’t the same but I prefer the TD. Also I tried to see if Trijicon would sell me the model ACOG that NZ adopted but they wouldn’t budge. It’s a shooter too!

Awesome rifle right there. I’m building the same clone right now. Trijicon wouldn’t even tell me a model number or reticle information. Which ACOG model did you go with?

I ended up going with a TA31-D since its a M193 BDC with 16" barrel, its mainly what I shoot. There's nothing close to the NZ model. Its some form of the ECOS. The mount is a Laure LT622.
Here's the offical specs on the reticle that they are using.

And here are some pics of the ACOG, official designation is TA31NZ.

You can see the BUIS on the ACOG much like the ECOS model we can get. Also the final variant appears to use an adjustable RMR versus non adjustable during the trials.

I'm planning on sending a Hodge Defense barrel to Marvin. Does he supply a gas block and tube with the conversion? I'm wondering if I need to send a standard gas block and gas tube with the barrel or if that would even work.

Edwin,
Not that many, surprisingly, under 10K.  It'd had mag dumps in auto fire in Big Sandy, and most of the courses I took were taken with this.  I contacted  Nefarious Arms to either flute or dimple the barrel, never heard back from them.  It's still on its original, heavy ass medium contoured barrel lol.

You know, for a while I went through so many barrels on different rigs because I was looking for the best I could get for MK262 ammo.
With the MRP I found the 14.5" CL barrel fairly optimum, especially suppressed, and the 16" 1/7 SS in particular just superb with everything.
The only disappointment was the (early) 18" SS 1/8 very heavy profile.  It, however, is a frickin' laser with 55gr matchkings!
I still have it, with less than 1K down the pipe!
