Tacked MRP Badness, chapter 3 (Page 54 of 143)

[Last Edit: m4hk33] [#1]
The weight difference on between the MWS railed and MLOC chassis is about 8 oz.  The lightweight barrel is about 8 oz lighter as well.  combined, 1lb off the front end of the rifle profoundly changes the handling characteristics of the weapon.

Just pick up a MLOC rifle length MRP chassis from the Memorial day sale,  should be a nice pick up, mid-lenght 14.5 ala URG with EBCG.

There really is not much of a difference between the SCAR and MWS in regards to weight these days

So I've been running condition 1 cases and they're awesome. Just got a new rifle case in and trying to figure out load out so I can cut the foam. I'm thinking -

14.5 RL MRP with Leupold 1.5-5x complete rifle
10.5 CQB MRP upper with Acog/RMR ECOS
10.5 CQB MLOK MRP upper 300BO Eotech EXPS 3
All 3 run the Saker 762

Glock 17 with Surefire X300U
AAC Ti Rant 45M

Mags

Any thoughts /opinions?

beautiful! That setup is pretty much what I want to do with my MRP rifle upper.

My MRP MLOK upper arrived yesterday, along with the LMT flipup sights and the LMT ambi charging handle. Mocked up on my Aero lower.

So I've been using Condition 1 cases for a while now and they make an excellent product. So much so that I would put it up against any Pelican quality wise, but they are cheaper which is nice.

I decided on a layout and carefully marked everything with a sharpie. I clamped an electric turkey knife to my workbench in hopes of keeping all cuts square to the foam itself. I tried my hardest to do a semi "professional" job and it still came out like shit.

Since I'm fairly OCD about this kind of stuff I knew it would drive me nuts so I contacted Cobra Custom Foam. They will be cutting me a new set of foam using a laser. I'm very excited to say the least and can't wait to get it.

Here's a pic of my cluster fuck

It would more than suffice as all contents live inside my safe and the cases are only used for transport but it would eventually drive me nuts. I'll update when I receive their custom cutouts. Also my pic sucks so apologies for that, and I asked them to add cutouts for a couple G17 mags and Pmags as well as cutouts for misc if there were any available real estate left over.

That’s gonna be a nicely configured case. Well done.

Cheers

I got my MLR chassis!  My scale shows 23.1 ounces for the chassis with barrel bolts.

Slapped it together with some odds and ends just so I can shoot it.  As shown, minus the scope/mount and mag, it weighs 6 lbs 14.2 oz.  That's all standard weight parts, including a factory 16" 5.56 barrel.  Well, the stock is on the lighter side but it has a good balance with that stock.

^^^ Mine doesn't seem to have any of that.  To be honest, I think the one I just got is probably the nicest MRP upper I've had yet.

It's my understanding that the gas port of the MRP is different, at more of an angle compared to a standard AR, so I'd say no, but maybe someone else here has more knowledge about it.

I didn't know either... between that and the straight gas tube.  I have a standard upper that needs to go back to lmt and i much rather have a low profile block pinned than them pinning the FSB on since I would just have to cut it down anyways.  I paid to have my mlok upper shipped back, i'm paying to have this standard upper shipped back, and finding the time to get to the PO is worse than the $$ right now (and $$ is pretty tight too), so I don't want to sound entitled but I feel like LMT could go a little out of their way to make me happy on this one.... i feel like I should have the right to make a few requests.  But i don't know if they have a low pro block that they could put on there if they wanted to so ???

ETA: my dog just puked on my bed as i was typing this... fml

I had an adjustable block put on an mrp barrel.  The port is cut at an angle, but still in the same place on the top of the barrel.  The mrp barrel extension is different from a standard barrel though.

Does LMT not send tracking numbers for orders?  I got an “order complete” email a few days ago, but no tracking number.  I’m wondering if it’s just going to show up or is delayed for some period of time.

Which honestly is slightly weird for a top tier company.  Although I have always gotten the feeling they tend to spend all their time on their products and contracts, and not so much their website or other IT-related things.

Speaking of that... My recent order was delivered to an old shipping address.  The correct address was specified at the time of order and is stated in my order confirmation email. In fact, I had even made a new web store account so there was no way my old address should have been associated with this order.  This is a very serious problem and I’m not much of a complainer, but I’m going to have to call LMT on Monday and talk to them about this.  There’s no way I can purchase anything else from them without this issue being resolved.

So I put together another RL MRP Recce because I have a Nightforce NX8 1-8X on the way for it. I'm up in the air as to the mount for it, I'll either go Bobro or Geissele DDC. Also I need to get a brake to use one of my suppressors and I'll probably throw my Surefire SOCOM 762 MINI on it as I have a Rugged Surge and Silencerco Saker on other Rifle Length MRPs.

It'll also wear either a black or tan Surefire M720V as I really like those lights, and I need another set of Troy BUIS.

Nice setup, how is its weight.

Have a simalar build waiting to be put together.

SS or CL barrel? Kind of want to convert a 6.5 grendal barrel for the build.
