I got the February/March issue of On Target magazine today and it has a small article about the 6.8 MRP.
It says they are doing final testing and will be taking orders at the SHOT Show.

Damn, it is going to be an expensive month...  Any thoughts on which length barrel to get with a 6.8?  I'm thinking 16" so no SBR issues...

I hate to see her go but the time has come.
I hope to find her a good home soon.  I am sure someone in the EE will find her before I take her to Louisville.

Yes, since the "rumor" is out in the open, LMT is introducing a 6.8" MRP at Shot.  The package I am bringing in is a CQB combo package consisting of 1 16" 5.56 setup as well as a 6.8" 16" barrel, bolt and magazine.

I've been out of the AR scene for a while now.... but what kind of stocks are on these rifles?  They look similar to a typical CAR stock, but also quite a bit unique.

Can anyone post up a link for me?

Thanks!

I'm going to let you guys beta test the SS barrels and tell me which one is most accurate - my 18" SS 5.56 is not doing as well as I would hope (I'm probably the one at fault!).  I'll probably start with a 16" chromelined.  Does anyone have much experience with 16" barreled 6.8s?  Are they louder than a 16" 5.56?

M.S.T.N. ORDERED A LARGE NUMBER OF MRP 6.8 SPC BARRELS, BOLT CARRIER GROUPS, BOLTS, ETC., JUST PRIOR TO THE SHOT SHOW. YOUR STATEMENT TO THE CONTRARY SIMPLY DID NOT SOUND LIKE THE OPPORTUNISTIC APPROACH THAT LMT WOULD ADOPT. YET, YOUR POST CAUSED ME CONCERN, SO I CONTACTED LMT.

I AM GLAD TO STATE THAT YOUR DEALER IS INCORRECT. THE 6.8 SPC BARRELS, BOLT CARRIER GROUPS, AND BOLTS WILL BE SOLD SEPARATELY.

ALL OF THIS HAVING BEEN SAID, WE'RE STILL LOOKING AT A 16 - 20 WEEK E.T.A., ACCORDING TO LMT.

So I have 4 or 5 months to save the money?  Sounds like that will work out just perfect!!!  WES I already asked to be added to the list!  Don't forget me!

Also, SMGLee said LMT was going to put out a .204 Ruger barrel for the MRP - did anyone else hear this?

Here is the wrench that I am probably going to get:  LINK

I think that the LMT instructions say 140 Inch/Lbs, but I may be wrong.

That is the exact wrench I have and it works perfectly and quickly for barrel changes.
They are kind of expensive, however after using it a couple dozen times I had it checked and it was exactly on 140 inlbs.
I had talked to the manufacturer regarding calibration and they said considering the level of use it would see it was a non-issue and figured re-calibration would probably never be needed and only advised checking it periodically.

With the Seekonk wrench it is too easy, just pick up the wrench, no torque to set (most torque wrenches I have had require you to reset them to the minimum for storage), no T-30 torx to find (just leave it on the wrench),  spin the front bolt out, turn rear bolt out 3-4 complete turns, remove & replace barrel, replace and tighten front bolt and then tighten rear.

Although my MRP will group under an inch with M262, the real benefit is the fact that I can swap out barrels in like 30 seconds, and change calibers in about 1 minute.

What do I think of it....
I like my ACOG better  The Short Dot is rather heavy/bulky and has a blue tint, I knew this while looking through one months ago, but I got a great deal on it so I had to buy it
The red dot doesn't seem to be visible until I turn it up to 6 and above, is that normal?  I just assume from 0 to 5 are all NV settings
What I didn' t know though, was the ACOG 4x32 has a wider FOV.
