Has anybody seen what the carry handle looks like for these?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/T91_assault_rifle#/media/File%3AT91-1_(76).JPG
A1 detectable carry handle!
I understand not including a carry handle, it would drive up cost and most people will toss it anyways, but I sure hope they'll be available by themselves. Heck, they may sell more carry handles than uppers.

These things come from Taiwan, how expensive could they be? They should be $400 absolute tops! We can buy American made uppers for $300 now.

The barrel blanks are profiled and finished here, then the upper is fully assembled by Americans.

That's why it costs more than $400, they can't import finished rifle barrels from other countries. Fuck the ATF, and fuck Bush Sr. for that shit.

Mostly stuff we already know.

Wolf Performance Arms A1 upper receiver group. Upper features a short stroke piston system.

1-7 twist cold hammer forged barrel. Not listed on the poster, but it is chrome-lined.

One piece bolt carrier. (Anvil struck by op rod is apart of the carrier, not a second piece that is attached to the carrier via screws)

Flash suppressor.

Proprietary rapid clean one-piece piston system. (I think that's what it says? )

Authentic T91 handguard and charging handle. I wonder, is the T91 charging handle different than that of a standard AR15?

From the poster, it looks like a rear sight is included, but it's not a carry handle. JMHO, but if it's not going to be that A1 carry handle, I'd rather they don't include a sight, and price it accordingly.

The fact that they said these uppers ship with a rear sight, but they didn't even have any available for SHOT show make me think these may be farther out from release than we initially thought :(

Our upper did not come with a rear sight even though it was in the retail packaging but they clearly stated that it was demo'ing on the range.

A1 detectable carry handle!
I understand not including a carry handle, it would drive up cost and most people will toss it anyways, but I sure hope they'll be available by themselves. Heck, they may sell more carry handles than uppers.

These things come from Taiwan, how expensive could they be? They should be $400 absolaute tops! We can buy American made uppers for $300 now.

Show me a piston upper for $300

I wasn't talking about piston uppers. And the bar has been lowered now, PSA has been selling complete di uppers for $250, free shipping I think. So I was saying give them an extra $100-$150 for being a piston and it's from Taiwan.

PSA also comes with a healthy dose of potential credit card fraud from what I've seen, or at least enough reported cases that it's better safe than sorry.

Adams Arms sells their piston uppers for ~600 USD starting. 599 is fairly reasonable for MSRP, we may see a significantly lower MAP as well depending upon how things go. It's unrealistic to expect 400 USD MSRP considering that piston and DI are different markets entirely.

I am hoping so. I am not positive, but I think there is a picture somewhere in this thread that shows an assortment of complete Taiwan made rifles, not just the upper, on display at what looks like some kind of defense expo or something. I *think* that those particular guns, which did not have the bayonet lugs, were identified as "export" versions.

If I can get my hands on one, I'd like to give one of these uppers a try, even without the bayonet lug, but if a version with the lug became available later on I would definitely get one. I certainly don't know this as a fact or anything, but I wonder if the Taiwan government prohibits selling or shipping the uppers with a bayonet lug on it? *If* that is the case, it could be the reason why these do not have them....again, that is ONLY a guess, in no way whatsoever a proven fact.

Why do people care about bayonet lugs? Is the desire for bayonet lugs for authenticity or do some of you have grand illusions of using the bayonet?

It's the desire to have as close as possible to the full original military configuration of the rifle.

Same as I'm unlikely to want an AR15 or AK without a bayonet lug... even though I'm never going to mount a bayonet.

So if a bayonet lug is so important, what do the purists plan on doing to replicate the T91 lowers? Custom engravings?
